About the role
The Non-Financial Regulatory Reporting Operations Manager is a seasoned role providing leadership and supervisory responsibility to a team of regulatory reporting analysts. This role is focused on the day-to-day execution and oversight of NFRR processes, ensuring the team's adherence to deadlines, accuracy standards, and control procedures. The Manager directs daily tasks, provides coaching and performance feedback, and serves as the first point of escalation for operational issues, ensuring the quality and timeliness of the team's end results. They bridge operational execution with leadership, manage governance forums, and support the transition of their team into higher responsibilities, contributing to the implementation of reporting standards and the overall strength of the control environment.
Responsibilities:
Team & Operational Supervision
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of a team of NFRR analysts, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation and submission of non-financial regulatory reports.
- Review and validate the work of the team, including pre-submission checks, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Manage the team's workload, coordinate task allocation, and ensure operational changes are communicated and implemented effectively.
- Coordinate with partner units for exceptions and clarifications identified by the team, ensuring timely resolution.
People Management & Development
- Provide direct people management, including performance evaluation, coaching, and supporting the development of junior and senior team members.
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and training of new analysts.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and ensure knowledge is shared effectively to manage all reporting functions.
- Influence and lead efforts (e.g., succession planning, project assignments) that support organization and employee development.
Stakeholder & Governance Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for the team's assigned reports, communicating with internal stakeholders on operational matters.
- Support senior managers by preparing materials and updates for governance forums.
- Participate in regulatory report design conversations and support engagement with regulators by providing data and explanations for routine queries.
Control & Documentation
- Manage the control framework and validation processes for the team's assigned reports.
- Support the resolution of non-financial regulatory reporting issues, escalating to senior management as necessary.
- Maintain process documentation and oversee local governance routines.
- Ensure the completeness of the team's reporting inventory at all times through regular checks and maintenance.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
- 5-8 years of experience in Operations, preferably in a regulatory reporting space.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a team lead or supervisory capacity.
- Solid experience in transactional regulatory reporting and a good understanding of operational processes and controls.
- Strong interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate, and enhance performance within a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent workload management and communication skills.
- Proven experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in data automation and transformation tools such as Xceptor and Alteryx is highly desirable. Understanding of prompt development for AI tools.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
