By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

Team/Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Custody Product Manager to drive commercial growth and strategic client relationships for our UK Asset Manager segment. This role is focused on serving traditional and alternative asset managers with complex global custody requirements. The successful candidate will lead the Custody commercial strategy for this segment, including pricing, deal structuring, and client engagement for transformational custody mandates, from initial business development through to ongoing relationship management. You will be a key part of a team that partners with Sales, Client Executives, Operations, and Technology to deliver a best-in-class client experience.

What you'll do

This role is an opportunity to lead significant client deals and shape the strategic direction of our Custody product for the asset manager segment. On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Partner with Sales and Client Executive teams to advance opportunities through the sales cycle, including RFP engagement, fee and legal negotiations, and successful client onboardings.

  • Build trusted advisor relationships with senior business and operations leaders at existing and prospective asset manager clients.

  • Serve as the Custody lead for large-scale asset manager conversions, coordinating across product management, operations, technology, risk, and compliance teams.

  • Manage the Custody P&L for the asset manager segment, driving revenue targets and profitability goals.

  • Develop and execute segment-specific commercial strategies to capture market share and win new mandates.

  • Define product roadmap priorities based on asset manager needs and competitive analysis, collaborating with Technology and Operations to champion enhancements.

  • Leverage data analytics to derive insights on client behaviour and product adoption.

  • Apply AI capabilities and innovative technologies to re-engineer and re-imagine Custody to improve the client experience and drive efficiency.

What we'll need from you

We are looking for a candidate with deep expertise in securities services and a proven track record in a client-facing or product management capacity. The essential qualifications and skills required are:

  • Solid experience within securities services with significant exposure to global custody operations and products.

  • Experience in product management, relationship management, or business development roles.

  • Experience with asset manager operating models across traditional and alternative strategies, including ETFs.

  • Proven experience with RFP processes, client negotiations, and fee/legal negotiations.

  • Expert understanding of the global custody value chain: settlement, safekeeping, and servicing.

  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks applicable to the Asset Manager segment (e.g., SEC Rule 17f-5, Volcker).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex negotiations and close transformational mandates.

  • Advanced skills in financial modelling, pricing analysis, and P&L management.

What we can offer you

This is a role that'll offer you the opportunity to build an in-depth knowledge of financial services operations and lead commercial strategy for a key client segment. Every day there will be new business challenges that will help you develop new skills that can drive your career.
