Supplier Quality Engineer

Ensure the conformity of materials received from suppliers through the execution of inspection activities, process approvals, deviation analyses, and technical validation, thereby safeguarding the production flow and customer satisfaction.

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for ensuring that materials supplied to the plant comply with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The SQE executes technical activities such as PPAP reviews, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, metrology, supplier audits, and document verification. The SQE acts as a technical liaison between the plant and suppliers to prevent, contain, and eliminate quality defects in the supply chain.

This position has a direct technical impact on the quality of products received from suppliers and their performance within the plant. The incumbent works under guidelines established by the Quality Supervisor or Manager, with the autonomy to conduct technical analyses, validate documentary evidence, issue reports, and manage containment actions. Their work influences the stability of the production process, the reduction of scrap and rework caused by non-conforming material, the improvement of supplier performance, and compliance with the quality standards required by automotive customers.

 Automotive Standards: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and related customer-specific requirements regarding supplier quality.
 AIAG Core Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC.
 Blueprint Interpretation and GD&T: reading geometric tolerances, cross-sections, and engineering notes.
 Metrology: measurement equipment, R&R studies, sampling, and dimensional validation.
 Applied Statistics: capability analysis, trend studies, statistical process control.
 QMS Documentation: records control, releases, inspection plans, NCMR forms.
 Root Cause Analysis: 5 Why, Ishikawa, and 8D methodologies.
 Conducting second-party audits of suppliers.

Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Materials Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced English Level
Technical professional with solid knowledge of quality, data analysis, metrology, and manufacturing processes, capable of interacting with suppliers and internal teams.
