Design Architect 

 

Job Description

1. Work closely with Network Design to review and understand business requirements, high-level designs, and low-level designs.

2. Competent in designing Mobile packet core network solutions for projects with small to large scale, complying with 3GPP standards.

3. Producing artefacts such as HLD and LLD documents, presentation, and technical Diagrams as part of project engagements.

4. Recommending vendor products for use by the business by authoring RFP’s, carrying our technology validation activities in vendor labs, scoring vendor proposals, and producing reports.

5. Contribute positively to improving network performance measurements and provide RCA (root causes Analysis) to problems and find creative solutions.

6. Produce detailed documentation on hardware and software to consult in feature availability and performance with internal stakeholders and vendors.

7. Ensure successful compliance for all business requirements by contributing actively to design, testing and provisioning activities such as design workshop, test planning, Review of MoP’s, etc.

8. Support other members in the team and Make suggestions and bring improvements.

Skillset Must have:

1. Deep understanding of distributed architecture of service provider, Packet core network platforms from leading suppliers such as Cisco, Nokia, Huawei, and Ericsson including, 3G, 4G, 5G SA and NSA architecture.

2. Strong understanding of 3GPP standards for various Mobile technologies.

3. PGW, PCRF, AAA, CSCF, NTAS, SGW, HLR/HSS, Ut Proxy

4. Network knowledge and skills in the areas of IP, UDP, TCP, DIAMETER (including Gx, Gy and Sy protocols), including knowledge and understanding of 5G NSA & SA architecture and functions.

5. Strong understanding of content filtering, content optimisation in data technology, Mobile Data offload, VoWifi, VoLTE and Mobile Data roaming.

6. Act as a solution expert and ensure solution documentation is up to date.

Good to have:

1. 5G SA knowledge and experience.

2. Knowledge of automation using Python or any other programming language.
