Systems Engineer

THE ROLE

Join our core infrastructure team to design, implement, and maintain the mission-critical foundational systems that power our global operations, with a focus on Cisco UCS and VMware technologies. You will be instrumental in scaling our high-performance converged infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and peak operational efficiency. This role requires deep technical expertise and collaboration with cross-functional IT groups to deliver complex, impactful projects that directly support our organizational growth.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Elevate Infrastructure Stability: Design, deploy, and manage our Cisco UCS infrastructure (blade/rack servers, Fabric Interconnects, Intersight/UCS Manager) and the localized VMware vSphere environment (vCenter, ESXi) to ensure highly available, performant systems across the organization.

• Drive Automation and Efficiency: Develop and maintain robust automation tools using languages like PowerCLI and Python to streamline complex provisioning, monitoring, and management tasks, significantly reducing manual effort and improving deployment speed.

• Optimize System Performance: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex production issues within the converged infrastructure environment, including participation in the on-call rotation, to maintain system integrity and minimize downtime.

• Influence Architectural Decisions: Partner with networking, storage (including Everpure, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel), and security teams to seamlessly integrate new technologies and establish comprehensive documentation and security best practices for all implemented systems.

WHAT YOU BRING

4+ years of experience in Automation and Scripting and from Converged Infrastructure background.

Expertise in Converged Infrastructure: Proven, deep technical skill in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco UCS architecture and all components of a VMware vSphere environment (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion).

Automation and Scripting Proficiency: The ability to write and implement practical automation scripts (e.g., in PowerCLI or Python) to solve operational challenges and improve infrastructure workflow efficiency.

Systems Troubleshooting Acumen: Advanced, practical skills in diagnosing and resolving intricate, time-sensitive issues within virtualized and converged production environments, often under pressure.

Architectural and Security Mindset: A strong understanding of core networking (VLANs, routing) and storage concepts, coupled with the ability to implement and enforce essential security best practices within the virtualized system.

Accountability and Ownership: A history of successfully managing key infrastructure areas autonomously, delivering high-quality results, and effectively collaborating with technical partners.

We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Bangalore office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
