About the Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a strategic Procurement professional to step into a pivotal role leading the global sourcing and supplier management of Process Chemicals supporting Alcoa’s smelting and refining operations.

Working in close partnership with Global Sourcing Managers and key regional stakeholders, you will execute sourcing strategies aligned with Alcoa’s global procurement and business priorities, while actively managing market risk and supply continuity. This role is critical to ensuring secure supply, competitive total cost, quality compliance, and working capital optimisation within a complex and dynamic commodity environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead global sourcing and supplier management for Process Chemicals, ensuring secure, uninterrupted supply across operations.

  • Execute sourcing and contracting strategies aligned with global procurement and business objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while continuously identifying new or alternative global supply options.

  • Lead and support global pricing negotiations, leveraging market intelligence to manage cost, availability, and risk.

  • Partner with Operations, Technical, and Transportation teams to optimise total delivered cost, freight strategies, forecasting, reporting, and opportunistic spot purchasing.

What you can bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualifications in in a technical or business discipline.

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing or commodity management, ideally within direct materials.

  • Strong commercial acumen with advanced negotiation skills and experience in managing supply risk and volatile commodity markets.

  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate with global, cross‑functional stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving capability.

  • A flexible work approach with the ability to work effectively across multiple time zones in a global environment.
