Job Description

Position Overview: 

The Lead Nurse delivers holistic, compassionate nursing care and supports clinical operations as a key member of the multidisciplinary team across all levels of care (Inpatient, Residential, and Outpatient). This role includes leadership responsibilities such as supporting onboarding, acting as a liaison between staff and providers, and stepping in for the Nurse Manager as needed.

Schedule:

  • Full Time 4 (10-hour shifts) 
  • Monday- Friday 7:00 am- 5:30 pm
    • Mondays are required every week.
    • Fridays are required every other week. 
  • Rotating on-call weekends.

 

Compensation:

$40-$50 per hr plus shift differential- Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

 

How Lead Nurses Empower Recovery:  

  • Assist in admission and discharge process for clients across all LOC, as designated by site.
  • Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify client care needs, potential risks, and psychological concerns.
  • Across all LOC, manage medications in collaboration with providers, including education, adherence monitoring, side effect assessment, and administration (in Inpatient and Residential settings only).
  • Coordinate medical care and communication among clients, providers, families, staff, and external care agencies.
  • Serve as a clinical resource to staff regarding client medical needs and health-related inquiries.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the client’s medical record.
  • Perform essential nursing tasks as required/needed based on level of care.
    • Physical and psychological assessments
    • Venipuncture/Phlebotomy
    • EKG placement and capture
    • Nasogastric tube insertion and feedings (in Inpatient and Residential LOC)
    • Implementation of provider order
  • Follow directives from the Nurse Manager or Lead Nurse, as applicable.
  • Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, utilizing strong communication and adaptability skills to promote high-quality care.
  • Act as the clinical lead after hours, initiating emergency protocols and escalating concerns to on-call leadership and providers.
  • Provide support to floor nurses with high-acuity clients (e.g., insulin management, NG feeds, refusals).
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and complex clinical situations as needed.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nurses, CNAs, Medical Assistants, and other team members.
  • Assist in department audits and participate in clinical or department-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Support critical staffing gaps and collaborate with other Lead Nurses and the Nurse Manager to maintain operational stability.
  • Help train and onboard new nursing staff; provide routine check-ins with staff to support successful integration and competency development.
  • Attend clinical team meetings and represent nursing leadership in the Nurse Manager's absence.
  • Step into the Nurse Manager role temporarily, as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between the nursing team and medical/psychiatric providers to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including those related to client rights, confidentiality, safety, and professional boundaries.
  • Drive clients, staff, or supplies in a company vehicle as needed.
