Our Environmental Services (EVS) Department is consistently ranked among the highest performing EVS teams in healthcare. As an Environmental Services Floor Technician, you will help create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This role is a great steppingstone to other careers within Environmental Services and departments within Cleveland Clinic. 

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the appearance of the facility.  

• Clean assigned areas daily.  

• Maintain hard floor surfaces by stripping, refinishing, mopping, buffing and auto-scrubbing. 

• Maintain carpets with shampoo, extraction, gum removal and daily maintenance.  

• Complete waste stream removal, general waste, recycling, infectious waste, etc.   

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• High School Diploma/General Education Development (GED)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, pulling, pushing, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting and reaching.
• Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
• Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
• Light Work - Exerting 11 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
