Job Description
We’re in an unbelievably exciting area of tech and are fundamentally reshaping the data storage industry. Here, you lead with innovative thinking, grow along with us, and join the smartest team in the industry.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
Join our System Hardware Development Team to engineer the next generation of enterprise storage solutions that power leading organizations globally. You will own the full hardware lifecycle—from design and validation to sustaining—collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring the reliability, performance, and successful launch of our cutting-edge storage systems into production.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and deliver high-performance hardware systems, taking ownership of schematic capture and driving PCB layout with a focus on signal integrity, resulting in robust and reliable storage architectures.
- Drive product quality by leading hardware validation and qualification, including defining, implementing, and automating comprehensive test plans for sub-systems like CPU, DDR memory, and key bus technologies (PCIe, Ethernet), directly impacting system stability and time-to-market.
- Act as the hardware technical lead for product introduction, collaborating with Operations, Manufacturing Test, and JDM partners to ensure seamless transition of new storage sub-systems from engineering to mass production.
- Elevate system reliability by performing in-depth failure and root cause analysis during system hardening and supporting high-priority customer escalations.
- Define technical specifications and documentation for new hardware designs (functional specifications, test reports), providing clear, high-quality technical blueprints for the entire product team.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Deep expertise in x86 architecture and interfaces, with the ability to qualify complex hardware at the electrical, signal integrity, protocol, and functional levels.
- Proven capability in high-speed hardware design and analysis, including hands-on experience with schematic capture, driving complex PCB layouts, and using tools like high-speed oscilloscopes and bus analyzers for debugging and analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, BASH) for test automation and system-level qualification.
- Experience in planning, implementing, and automating comprehensive hardware qualification and stress tests (e.g., PTU, Mprime, IOmeter) for enterprise-grade systems.
- Exceptional problem-solving, teamwork, and cross-functional collaboration skills to successfully partner with internal engineering, operations, and external manufacturing teams.
