Artefact
Job Description
Who is Artefact?
Artefact is a next-generation strategy and data consulting firm dedicated to transforming organizations through data and AI. We combine the rigor of top-tier strategy consulting with deep expertise in data, digital, and analytics to help clients achieve tangible business impact.
With 1,800+ consultants, data scientists, and engineers across 23 countries, we work with global leaders such as Samsung, L’Oréal, Orange, and Sanofi. Our Romandie office (Geneva/Lausanne) is at the heart of Artefact’s growth, advising clients on their most pressing strategic challenges — from AI strategy and governance to digital transformation roadmaps and new business model design.
Main Responsibilities
As a Technical Consultant / AI Engineer, you will be a hands-on builder: prototyping, testing, and deploying AI and data solutions for clients. Unlike a generalist consultant role, this position is for someone who enjoys coding, experimenting with new models, and getting PoCs into production. You’ll be part of multi-disciplinary teams and work directly with client stakeholders to transform their ideas into running solutions. You will:
- Build & Deploy PoCs: Design and implement proof-of-concepts and prototypes for AI/ML use cases (incl. LLMs and Generative AI), demonstrating feasibility and business impact.
- Programming & Modeling: Develop and fine-tune machine learning and deep learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or HuggingFace.
- Cloud Engineering: Build and run solutions on Azure, GCP, or AWS — from data pipelines to deployed AI services.
- Solution Architecture Support: Contribute to architecture design for scalable AI solutions, ensuring security, performance, and maintainability.
- Client Collaboration: Work with clients’ business and IT teams to translate requirements into technical designs, explain feasibility, and guide them on best practices.
- Continuous Innovation: Stay ahead of the curve on AI/ML (especially LLMs, MLOps, cloud-native AI services) and bring these into client engagements.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for an engineer first, consultant second – someone with a builder’s mindset and the ability to thrive in a consulting setting.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Programming: Strong skills in Python (other languages such as SQL, Java, or C++ a plus).
- AI/ML: Hands-on experience with machine learning, deep learning, and LLMs (fine-tuning, prompt engineering, embeddings).
- Cloud: Familiarity with Azure, GCP, or AWS for deploying AI solutions (must have worked with at least one).
- Tools & Frameworks: Exposure to MLOps, APIs, Git, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is highly valued.
- Languages: Fluency in German and English (both written and spoken) is mandatory; French is a strong plus.
- Work Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in Switzerland.
Why Join Us
- Strategy with a Data Edge: Artefact is not a traditional strategy consultancy nor a pure tech player — we sit uniquely at the crossroads, giving you the chance to build boardroom-level strategy expertise while being at the forefront of AI and digital transformation.
- Romandie Office Impact: As part of a growing Swiss team, you will have visibility and impact from day one. You will help shape Artefact’s footprint in the region and work directly with senior leadership.
- Learning & Growth: Regular training in both strategy consulting methodologies and AI/data capabilities, combined with international exposure.
- Culture of Doers: Innovation, Action, Collaboration. We are entrepre
