As a Research Computing Analyst, you will maintain and develop research databases, support data organization and analysis, assist with the maintenance of the department’s computing infrastructure, and help facilitate clinical image distribution while supporting the growing computational, data, and technical needs of Urology research. The team has developed research tools that use large language models (LLMs) to extract data into discrete elements, as well as computer vision tools to quantify and interpret medical imaging including CT scans and pathology slides, which require dedicated technical expertise to align with clinical and research needs. In this role, you will help develop, maintain, and scale these tools, improve access to secure and efficient research computing resources, and enhance data management, workflow standardization, and technical support for investigators.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Maintain and develop research databases.

  • Support data organization and analysis.

  • Help facilitate clinical image distribution.

  • Participate in the development of new as well as modifications of existing,

  • registries and databases to meet the changing and evolving needs of clinical research activities, reporting and quality improvement activities.

  • Organize and maintain an architecture for physical and computer storage for clinical research projects and their data sets.

  • Assist in maintaining an efficient, effective computer environment.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics or a related field

  • Demonstrated computing expertise

  • Database administration, SQL query, and basic statistical analysis skills

  • Experience in Unix or Windows server functions

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Computer Science degree

  • Experience with medical image data formats and image processing

  • Experience working with medical imaging data and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)

  • Knowledge of Python and SQL

  • Python programming experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital system.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. 

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
