Job Description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we're looking for talented people who want to help.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You'll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you'll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Support the growth of clean energy at scale across the Eastern US with the AWS Energy Team. In this role, you will drive strategic business development initiatives, negotiate and execute power supply contracts across AWS regions in PJM and adjacent markets, and create innovative supply structures that integrate our carbon free energy portfolio. The candidate will identify key market conditions, regulations, and market structures to help evaluate opportunities while building strategic partnerships with utilities, developers, and market stakeholders. The optimal candidate will have a results-oriented approach, analytical skill set, strong financial acumen, and proven business development capabilities.

- Lead business development efforts to identify and secure strategic energy partnerships and procurement opportunities primarily in PJM market
- Develop and execute a comprehensive carbon free energy and utilities strategy for AWS data centers across the Eastern US
- Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid, reduce cost, minimize risk and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon

- Work collaboratively with Amazon Infrastructure team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities and infrastructure planning
- Analyze trends and regulations in the energy space to proactively identify opportunities that benefit Amazon
- Drive cross-functional initiatives with legal, finance, real estate, and infrastructure teams to advance energy procurement objectives
- Represent AWS in industry forums, working groups, and stakeholder meetings to influence market development
- Be a passionate self-starter with strong business development instincts
