Job Description

Job Description Summary:

Job Title: Manager, Packaging Design (IBERIA)
Location: IBERIA
Reports To: Senior Director, IMX IBERIA
Direct Reports: None

Role Purpose

The Manager, Packaging Design (IBERIA) is responsible for the end-to-end implementation and operational delivery of all packaging artwork for the Coca-Cola Company’s local portfolio.  This role ensures that packaging projects move smoothly and accurately through the artwork management process — from brief to approval to final release — in full alignment with bottler partners, sustainability guidelines, regulatory requirements, and commercial timelines. As packaging governance and implementation move from central teams to local ownership, this role is critical to ensuring that all packaging in-market is accurate, compliant, up-to-date, and delivered on time. Working as part of the IMX team, the Manager partners with brand teams, bottlers, commercialisation managers, legal, RGM, sustainability teams, Creative/Shopper/Digital functions, and external artwork agencies (e.g., SGS) to guarantee flawless execution. This role is highly executional, detail oriented, and operationally focused. It requires strong project management, precision, coordination and communication — and a passion for safeguarding packaging as one of the most powerful consumer touchpoints.

What You’ll Do for Us

Artwork (AW) Management & Execution

  • Manage the full packaging artwork workflow for IBERIA—from brief input to approval to final file release.

  • Act as the daytoday local point of contact with the artwork partner (e.g., SGS) for all packaging artwork across IBERIA.

  • Attend weekly packaging status calls with artwork partners and commercialisation teams; track and share updates regarding AW progress, delays, risks, FTP dates, and releases.

  • Ensure artwork moves efficiently through each stage of the process by proactively coordinating approvals with brand, legal, technical, bottler, and sustainability approvers.

Packaging Calendar, AW Forecasting & Commercialisation

  • Maintain and update the master packaging calendar for IBERIA, ensuring visibility of all ongoing and upcoming artwork changes.

  • Forecast number of Artwork changes collaborating with commercial and front line teams

  • Partner with bottler commercialisation managers to align artwork timelines with production windows, commercial plans, and customer requirements.

  • Escalate risks or delays and propose mitigation plans to IMX, brand teams, and bottler partners.

Governance, Compliance & Sustainability

  • Ensure all packaging is compliant with local regulations, mandatory claims (e.g., “Made in IBERIA), sustainability claims, recycling guidance, barcode placement, and corporate standards.

  • Serve as the guardian of sustainability guidelines and ensure their consistent application across all SKUs and brands.

  • Work closely with Legal, Technical, Quality, and Sustainability teams to ensure all packaging claims and labels meet compliance requirements.

Packaging Quality & Visual Identity Alignment

  • Ensure that packaging artwork aligns with the Visual Identity System (VIS) and design guidelines defined by brand and design teams.

  • Verify that packaging assets maintain consistency across variants, packs, and formats.

  • Participate in packaging refinement cycles, ensuring technical accuracy and visual integrity.

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with brand teams, IMX, Shopper, Creative, Commercial, RGM, Supply Chain, Insights, and bottlers to ensure packaging execution supports business priorities.

  • Collaborate closely with Creative and Shopper teams to integrate packaging updates with in market activation needs.

  • Coordinate with external agencies, printers, and production partners to ensure precise implementation.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with central OU artwork team

Project Management & Reporting

  • Lead packaging status reporting, preparing weekly updates, trackers, risk logs, and milestones for IMX and Brand teams.

  • Use project management routines, checklists, and tools to ensure all packaging projects run on time and within requirements.

  • Provide transparency on AW throughput, cycles, bottlenecks, and performance metrics.

Continuous Improvement & Ways of Working

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve the packaging artwork process for IBERIA.

  • Ensure strong communication flows across functions and partners.

  • Role model operational discipline, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Packaging, Design, Business, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in packaging artwork coordination, packaging project management, design implementation, or similar executional roles (client or agency side).

  • Strong understanding of artwork systems, prepress processes, file formats, print requirements, and artwork approval workflows.

  • Excellent project management skills; able to manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously with high precision.

  • Strong collaboration skills with cross functional teams and external partners (agencies, bottlers, printers).

  • Knowledge of sustainability guidelines and regulatory requirements for packaging preferred.

  • Familiarity with VIS/design guidelines and ability to safeguard brand consistency.

  • Detail oriented, organized, disciplined, and efficient under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills; able to coordinate complex approval processes across multiple stakeholders.

  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with high operational volume.

What We Can Do for You

  • Ownership: Full responsibility for ensuring packaging excellence across all IBERIA brands.

  • Impact: Critical role in shaping the most visible and frequently used brand touchpoint — packaging.

  • Integration: Work at the intersection of brand, creative, IMX, commercial, and bottler teams.

  • Growth: Exposure to global packaging best practices and opportunities to develop operational and design stewardship capabilities.
