• Support the Regional Accounting and Control - Head or take lead in the overall financial close process for Asia, including the preparation of Asia Financial Statements as well as the consolidation of all financial and statutory reports to RO and Corporate.
• Participate in various projects
• Acts as Relationship Manager for Asia business unit (BU)

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a must
• 8+ years of working experience with at least 5 years of combined accounting, supervisory, and or managerial experience
• Knowledgeable of the IFRS and with strong accounting skills
• Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Capable of multitasking and working in multi-cultural environment
• Proactive, a quick learner and be able to meet tight deadlines
• Working in sizable multinational companies and/or insurance industry is highly preferred
• Knowledgeable in computerized accounting systems such as SAP, Sun Systems and Oracle is an advantage
• Knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act is an advantage

• Supports the Regional Accounting and Control - Head or take lead in the overall financial close process for Asia

- Ensures closing of the BU’s books based on the agreed schedule

- Ensures that key controls over RAC-FRR's Financial Close Process are operating effectively

- Reviews and coordinates with the BU Finance team on the timely submission of notes disclosure requirements, Canadian statutory requirements and other management reports and accordingly, and ensures accuracy of information reported.

- Support the Business Units need such as assisting and providing them guidance on various accounting issues as well as processing their COV requests.

- Ensure timely and accurate submission of Asia’s financial and regulatory reports to Corporate.

- Prepares financial statements and reports for submission to Regional Office Finance and Central Accounting based on the agreed timeline.

• Work with the RAC Project Lead in various projects including but not limited to system related changes, new General Ledger and Subsidiary Ledger implementation:

- Ensures timely and accurate submission of project deliverables

- Provide inputs on business requirements gathering and reviews Business Requirements Document for RAC

- Perform RAC Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) results validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

- Support the RAC Project Lead in all other project activities, including but not limited to Process alignment, Process redesign, Review/provide GL and Accounting Hub requirements for RAC

- Participate in the project management works for RAC

• Participates in the impact assessment of new standards/amendments to existing standards.

• Participates in the SOX – related activities.

• Perform reconciliation and ensure compliance with the relevant standards and guidelines.

• Participate in other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the manager
