The Group

The Precision Signal Chain (PSC) Group is a core technology franchise within ADI, focused on developing next-generation solutions such as ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, voltage references and ASSP’s. The Position

As part of our global operations and in response to rapidly expanding business needs, we are seeking an IC Layout Designer to join our team.

As a developing professional with a growing command of core layout skills, the IC Layout Designer will collaborate with Mixed-Signal Designers and Lead Layout Engineers to design and implement integrated circuit layouts of moderate complexity. The role involves working with appropriate guidance to meet key technical requirements within defined timelines, while gradually taking on more challenging projects that contribute to ADI’s innovative product portfolio.

Limerick – Ireland 

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a mixed-signal design team based at our Limerick (Ireland) site

  • Resolve moderately complex layout challenges requiring analysis and problem‑solving

  • Execute work with moderate guidance and clear, defined objectives

  • Manage short-term, focused projects with well‑specified deliverables

  • Provide coaching or guidance to junior engineers as needed

  • Design and implement integrated circuit layouts of moderate complexity

  • Perform timing extraction and analysis with increasing independence

  • Use EDA tools for layout and verification with growing proficiency

Requirements

  • Layout Fundamentals: Demonstrated competence in IC layout design principles and implementation 

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in IC layout, CMOS technology, timing analysis, and EDA tools 

  • Process Understanding: Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and device physics

  • Business Awareness: Understanding of how individual contributions impacts business objectives 

  • Communication Skills: Professional communication abilities to coordinate with cross-functional teams 

Preferred Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience 

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
