THE JOB:

As the Assistant Manager of Avenue Café at MGM Grand, you will support the daily operations of a high-volume, guest-favorite dining destination known for its approachable menu and round-the-clock energy. In this role, you will help lead the team on the floor, ensuring service is attentive, organized, and aligned with MGM Resorts standards. With your professional presence and guest-focused approach, you will set the tone for a positive dining experience while coaching team members and supporting operational efficiency. By understanding each guest’s needs and expectations, you will help create meaningful moments that encourage repeat visits and reflect the service culture of MGM Grand.


THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Make daily floor plans per shift to ensure proper rotation and coverage of stations

  • Supervise floor service in dining rooms during hours of operation

  • Perform employee evaluations and manage issues related to attendance records

  • Maintain communication with the Chef on all food service and menu issues

  • Communicate with management, chefs and culinary staff in order to fulfill and address issues or needs requested by guests  and employees

  • Order supplies through the IP System and Purchasing; prepare purchase requisitions for any outlets from the warehouse or  support departments

  • Keep inventory form and stocking area updated

  • Inspect food coming from support departments to assure freshness and quality

  • Maintain direct communication with guests for special requests and large party reservations

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required

  • 2+ Years of prior relevant experience required

  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Previous experience managing employees under a collective bargaining agreement preferred

  • Previous relevant Management experience in a high-volume restaurant environment preferred
