Job Description

Senior UX Researcher | Experiences

About Tripadvisor

The Tripadvisor Group connects people to experiences worth sharing, and aims to be the world’s most trusted source for travel and experiences. We leverage our brands, technology, and capabilities to connect our global audience with partners through rich content, travel guidance, and two-sided marketplaces for experiences, accommodations, restaurants, and other travel categories. The subsidiaries of Tripadvisor, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRIP), include a portfolio of travel brands and businesses, including Tripadvisor, Viator, and TheFork.

As a Senior UX Researcher at TripAdvisor, you will be the primary insights partner for our B2C Product Details Page (PDP) across Viator and TripAdvisor - where millions of travelers decide their next adventure. Reporting to the Director of Product Design & Research, you will be responsible for raising the bar of our research craft.

You will masterfully triangulate qualitative findings with Voice of Customer (VoC) signals and behavioral data, translating them into actionable insights that inform the future of our product roadmap in a complex, global marketplace.

The right candidate will have 6+ years of applied qualitative and quantitative research experience in a professional setting; will be passionate about research and travel, comfortable in a fast moving organisation and excited to collaborate with a diverse set of skilled cross-functional partners.

If you’re passionate about UX research and like seeing your efforts translated into real world impact, we want you on our team.

Job Location: Hybrid

This role is a hybrid position that requires 1-2 days per month in our London or Oxford office.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Impact: Lead large-scale initiatives-including international benchmarking and quarterly planning. You will scope problems by looking at the competitor landscape and business KPIs, ensuring research outputs directly influence the product roadmap.
  • Tactical Agility: Drive a high-velocity stream of rapid-response research to support immediate PDP optimizations and design iterations.
  • Insight Triangulation: Synthesize multiple data streams (qualitative studies, VoC feedback, and quantitative behavioral metrics) to provide a 360-degree view of traveler pain points and opportunities.
  • Quantitative Rigor: Lead large-scale survey design and analysis. You should be comfortable "getting under the hood" of data-using Excel/Google Sheets to build templates, run formulas, and interpret statistical trends to ensure our findings are robust.
  • Craft Leadership: Act as a "force multiplier" for the research team by establishing best practices, templates, and rigorous standards that elevate the quality of insights across the organization.
  • Operate with high autonomy: Confidently field and shape ambiguous research asks into clear, actionable research plans

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in day-to-day work.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively with a global-first mindset

Minimum BA/BSc degree in psychology, HCI, design, communication, statistics or other related field

  • 6+ years of professional applied research experience
  • Business-Minded Researcher: You understand business metrics (e.g., Conversion, AOV, Retention). You can identify when a research finding suggests a feature "won't move the needle" on key business goals and can communicate that effectively to PMs.
  • Mixed-Methods & Quant Literacy: Deep experience triangulating qual with quant. You are comfortable with statistical basics-you know how to analyze large datasets and ensure survey results are statistically sound.
  • Strategic Architect: Proven ability to contribute and influence research and product roadmaps at the leadership level; you don't just deliver reports, you deliver direction.
