Aypa Power is seeking a senior financial reporting accountant to oversee the preparation of the consolidated financial statements, disclosures, and interim financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, as well as 12+ subsidiary financial statements. This role will assist with implementing process improvements, including system reporting upgrades, optimizing data collection, and improving financial analysis. The position reports to the Director of Reporting and Technical Accounting and will partner closely with other stakeholders throughout the Company as a key point of contact for accounting issues and to support accounting deliverables. We are looking for someone who is a team player, has strong analytical and communication skills, and has a growth mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare consolidated parent company and multiple project-level financial statements, related disclosures, and supporting schedules for external reporting;
- Drive process improvement and scalability of the financial reporting process;
- Support the external auditors during audits and interim procedures, including the coordination of requests and the flow of information and documentation;
- Organize and assist with addressing comments received from senior management;
- Draft accounting memos and perform technical research as necessary;
- Promote team atmosphere and a positive work environment;
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Key Qualifications:
- 3-8 years of accounting experience;
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
- Auditing and/or financial reporting experience;
- Active CPA license preferred;
- Extensive working knowledge of U.S. GAAP;
- Ability to organize workload, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability and desire to identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization, preferably through the use of digital tools;
- Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail, rigorous work paper standards;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Self-motivated and strong organizational skills, able to plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments, work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
- Exposure to complex technical accounting issues, impairments, acquisitions, revenue recognition, leases, etc.
- Aptitude for understanding accounting consolidations;
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Workiva Wdesk experience is a plus;
- Other duties as required or assigned.
