We are looking for a Transportation Management System (TMS) Inbound Lead to serve as the primary point of contact for all sites and suppliers in the EMEA region regarding the Collins Transportation Management System (TMS) inbound implementation.

Role Overview:

The TMS Inbound Lead will oversee and manage the transportation and delivery of products, with a focus on inbound traffic to Collins sites generated by both production and indirect suppliers. This role is instrumental in driving the implementation of TMS in collaboration with our 3rd party TMS partner. Responsibilities include defining requirements, overseeing the launch, providing post-go-live support, and ensuring sustainable continuous improvement actions.

What You Will Do

COMMERCIAL

  • Statement of Work (SOW) – Execute the SOW with the TMS Partner.  If needed, modify with amendment to reflect continuous integration and value-add.
  • Continuous Improvement - Quantifies and qualifies opportunities for continuous improvement (TMS enhancements) in areas of process, productivity and system capability that result in cost/overhead efficiencies.
  • Drive Savings - Drives the TMS Partner and Collins Organization to achieve TMS-related savings targets

COMPLIANCE/OPTIMIZATION

  • Compliance – Work with site logistics leadership, supplier leadership, supplier shippers, buyers, carriers and TMS partner to ensure TMS – Shipping process improvement, standardization and compliance.
  • Drive Service - Work with the Transportation Managers, Suppliers and TMS Control Tower to provide feedback to preferred partners on performance.
  • Documentation - Complete and maintain TMS implementation documentation as required for Standard Work, Process Alignment, and Training.
  • Evolve - Recommends improvement and additions in the organization’s use of the TMS engineered optimizations and Documentation - Complete and maintain TMS integration and data documentation as required for Standard Work, Process Alignment, and Training.

MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATIONS

  • Present - Works closely with key stakeholders to define and communicate project scope and ensure timely delivery of all project components. Presents status of project regularly to TMS Group Lead, cross functional Program Management Office (PMO), SBU, site logistics leaders and Supply Chain SLT.
  • Support - Responsible for working with the TMS partner and SBU/Site logistics leaders to train internal operations personnel, external suppliers, and mentoring other team members on the TMS platform. Provide support post-launch.
  • Process – Work with SBU and site logistics leadership, Global Trade, supplier leadership, supplier shippers, buyers, carriers TMS partner and other internal and external stakeholders to develop TMS inbound shipping processes, including supplier communications, standard work, work flow and process documentation to enable maximum savings, enable Collins-wide process standardization, and ensure compliance with global trade and ITAR requirements.
  • Interface – Work with cross functional stakeholders including Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, to design, develop, test, and deploy the TMS solution.
  • Standard Work - Manages the design, configuration, testing, implementation, and on-going maintenance of all systematic specialty logistics workflows, including the interaction with upstream and downstream integrations.  Includes TMS system updates.
  • Communicates – Communicate critical TMS changes and disruptions timely to leadership, internal customs, and external suppliers/customers.
  • Team Work – Works with TMS outbound counterpart in region to support the overall TMS project, learning from each other and making improvements on both flows based on lessons learned.

DATA GOVERNANCE

  • Define – Work with site logistics leadership, supplier leadership, supplier shippers, buyers, carriers, Collins Digital Technology (DT), Collins Central Logistics, and TMS partner to ensure TMS has all data requirements needed are properly mapped during integration.  Define “good data” and “bad data” for TMS inputs and outputs.
  • Maintain – Develop standard processes to maintain and streamline the TMS.  Develop “exception messages for bad data” as it is generated and align the required stakeholders to correct using Standard Work.
  • Documentation - Complete and maintain TMS integration and data documentation as required for Standard Work, Process Alignment, and Training.  ·       
  • Evolve - Captures Voice of the Customer. Recommends value-add improvement in the organization’s use of the TMS by Process-Driven Master Data Management integration enhancements.

OTHER

  •   Ad-hoc: Additional responsibilities as defined by the TMS Group Lead or the PMO

Qualifications You Must Have

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four (4) year college or university and 5 years related experience; or an Advance degree in appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • TRAVEL 25% travel required. While most work is in normal daytime hours, Collins’ global footprint and supplier base can require meetings or calls outside normal business hours.
  • Reside in Europe and able to travel extensively within the region and occasionally to North America or globally. While area of responsibility will be Europe, must be able to participate in online meetings and training sessions with North American and Asian/European participants outside normal business hours if required.
  • Fluent in English required. Fluency in French, German, or Polish highly desired (Europe).

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Background in domestic and international freight in EMEA
  • Experience implementing logistics process improvement projects in a complex environment and multiple modes (parcel, heavyweight air, truckload, less-than-truckload and dedicated carriage).
  • Experience in Transportation Management System (TMS) large-scale implementation (industrial /aerospace preferred). Experience with ERP (SAP preferred).  Experience with a variety of shipping / transportation software systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel inclusive of Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and concept of Paretos.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Certification with Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and Association for Supply Chain Management (APICS) are not required yet valued.
