About the role

The Roku APPS team is a group of highly skilled technologists that builds innovative platform products and services that enable over 100M+ users and streaming devices. We connect users to the streaming content they love and enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences. We work on a range of critical services that power the Roku eco-system, including device and account setup, identity, authentication, channel distribution to devices, and channel publishing.

What you will be doing

Determine the strategic and tactical direction of the front-end architecture.
Design, develop, test, deploy, and document impactful features with cross-browser compatibility, accessibility and search engine optimization.
Suggest tools, technologies and best practices to improve the site stability, performance and quality.
Participate in Agile development process, including scoping, technical design, estimation effort, coding, testing, debugging, code reviews, maintenance and support.
Design efficient content models, user workflows and page templates.
Advocate for and lead by example on the tenets of operational excellence.
Collaborate with product managers, user experience and data engineering.

We're excited if you have

7+yrs of relevant web development and production application support of highly trafficked consumer-facing web applications.
3+yrs of in-depth experience with React and relevant toolset/framework ecosystem.
Expert-level knowledge of JavaScript – prototypical inheritance, scope and closures.
Experience with Node.js, React.js/Angular.js, Express, SASS/LESS, AWS, npm, Git and CI a necessity.
Knowledge of latest open standards and web technologies and how they can be used effectively.
Ability to decompose complex problems into manageable units of work.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with Agile methodologies.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

Our Hybrid Work Approach

Roku fosters an inclusive and collaborative environment where teams work in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays are flexible for remote work except for employees whose roles are required to be in the office five days a week or employees who are in offices with a five day in office policy.
