Manager, Digital & AI Integration

Band 7 | Location: [Greenville, NC]
Reports to: Site IT Leader

Position Summary

The Manager, Digital & AI Integration serves as the site lead for data-driven, digital, and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational performance within a drug product CDMO environment. Operating within a highly matrixed global organization, this role bridges enterprise digital strategy and site-level execution to deliver practical, scalable solutions that enhance manufacturing, quality, laboratory, and supply chain workflows.

Acting as the site’s digital and AI champion, the role combines business analysis, hands-on technical capability, and change leadership to translate operational challenges into actionable solutions. By leveraging data from enterprise and manufacturing systems, the role develops analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled capabilities that improve visibility, decision-making, and execution, supporting consistent, compliant operations and reliable delivery to clients.

The role partners closely with system owners, IT/OT, and global Digital/AI teams across the PSG network to ensure alignment with enterprise platforms, standards, and governance. Solutions are designed to be compliant, sustainable, and scalable, avoiding duplication and reinforcing a consistent approach across sites.

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for identifying and solving operational challenges through the practical application of digital, analytics, and AI capabilities across manufacturing, quality, laboratory, and supply chain workflows. Working closely with site leadership, system owners, and cross-functional teams, the individual translates business needs into actionable solutions by leveraging data and capabilities from enterprise and manufacturing systems.

A core component of the role is hands-on technical contribution. The individual develops and deploys dashboards, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational visibility, decision-making, and execution. This includes integrating and preparing data from multiple sources, enabling real-time insights, and supporting use cases that extend beyond standard reporting capabilities. Where appropriate, the role provides hands-on development and configuration of AI-driven solutions aligned with site priorities and enterprise standards.

The role serves as the site’s digital and AI subject matter expert, driving awareness, training, and adoption of data-driven and AI-enabled capabilities. Acting as a change agent, the individual ensures that solutions are effectively embedded into daily operations and sustained within a regulated environment, aligning tools with real-world workflows and reinforcing consistent usage.

In parallel, the role maintains strong alignment with global teams, including the Digital/AI Center of Excellence, IT Solution Owners, and Digital PPI. The individual ensures that all solutions leverage enterprise platforms, adhere to governance and security standards, and avoid unnecessary duplication or fragmentation. Successful use cases, insights, and best practices are shared across the network to enable scalability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Life Sciences, or a related field, along with experience in digital transformation, data analytics, or IT/OT-enabled solutions within a pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, or CDMO environment.

Candidates should demonstrate strong technical capability, including experience working with enterprise systems such as MES, ERP, and LIMS, as well as hands-on experience with data analytics, integration, and AI-enabled solutions. Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar technologies is preferred, particularly where applied to solving operational problems.

A working understanding of manufacturing, quality, or supply chain processes in a regulated (GxP) environment is important, along with the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization and collaborate across technical and business stakeholders.

Success Profile

Success in this role is defined by the ability to rapidly translate operational challenges into practical, scalable digital and AI-enabled solutions that are adopted and deliver measurable impact. This includes improving operational visibility, enabling faster and more informed decision-making, reducing manual processes, and enhancing execution across manufacturing and quality workflows.

The individual will be recognized as the site’s digital and AI leader, combining technical expertise with business understanding to drive meaningful improvements while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards. Success ultimately contributes to consistent operational performance and reinforces reliable, compliant delivery to clients.

Role Context

This role complements existing functions within the PSG operating model by combining technical problem-solving with site-level execution. While the Digital/AI Center of Excellence develops core capabilities, IT Solution Owners manage platforms and architecture, and Digital PPI drives program governance and value realization, this role focuses on applying those capabilities to real-world problems, accelerating adoption, and enabling scalable solutions at the site level.
