This role is responsible for managing all aspects related to billing, cost estimation, and quantity surveying and work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate billing, cost control, and adherence to project budgets.Job Description
About the Role:
1. Quantity Take-off & Estimation
- Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) for MEP works from drawings and specifications.
- Perform quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Assist in preparation of cost estimates and budgets for MEP packages.
- Analyze drawings and identify discrepancies in quantities.
2. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Monitor project costs and ensure work is within approved budgets.
- Track material quantities and resource usage for MEP activities.
- Prepare cost comparison statements for procurement.
3. Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare tender documents and scope of work for subcontractors.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and negotiate rates.
- Assist in vendor selection for MEP materials and services.
4. Billing & Payment Certification
- Prepare and verify RA Bills (Running Account Bills) for contractors and subcontractors.
- Check measurement sheets and certify executed quantities.
- Process final bills and variation claims.
5. Variation & Claims Management
- Identify variations/change orders in MEP works.
- Prepare variation statements and submit claims for additional work.
- Maintain records of all contractual changes.
6. Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and consultants.
- Maintain proper documentation of drawings, BOQs, contracts, and bills.
- Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports.
7. Contract Administration
- Review contract terms and conditions related to MEP works.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications and contractual obligations.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting)
- Strong skills in quantity take-off and cost estimation
- Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying software
- Understanding of contracts, BOQ, and billing procedures
Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil Engineering
- Experience in construction projects with MEP works
