Johnson & Johnson Advanced Therapies is seeking a Vein to Vein Manager, to join our growing team in Tokyo, Japan. This role is to lead and manage the Vein to Vein team in Asian Pacific region, reporting to senior manager in Japan, and collaborate with cross-functional and regional teams for successful commercial launch of CAR-T products and manage day-to-day activities with internal/external stakeholders and improve the operational efficiency and scalability after the commercial launch in APAC countries.

CAR-T is an advanced therapy that harnesses the patient’s own immune system to fight disease. This groundbreaking technology offers hope to patients for whom other therapies have proven ineffective.

As Vein to Vein Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the Vein to Vein team in Asian Pacific region, escalating potential risks and reporting operational status to the senior manager in Japan, preparing for the commercial launch related to logistics, chain of identity & chain of custody (COIC), system and operational readiness and managing post launch day-to-day activities for order fulfillment, logistics and COIC management. After the commercial launch in APAC countries, you will lead or support strategic programs that enable our organization to evolve and scale. People management, stakeholder management and partnering with APAC partners including commercial team are the critical skills required for this position. You will work closely with the V2V leadership team and broader cross-functional partners to accelerate progress on key initiatives that ensure operational readiness and resilience during a period of rapid growth and transformation.

This is a people leadership role. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our Vein to Vein operations and supporting both strategic and tactical execution in APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead APAC Vein to Verin team as a people manager

  • Manage the commercial launch readiness for CAR-T products in APAC countries related to logistics, chain of identity & chain of custody (COIC), system and operational readiness.

  • Manage post launch day-to-day activities related to order fulfillment, logistics and COIC management.

  • Manage stakeholders to proactively triage the issues in the operations and projects.

  • Escalate the potential risks to senior manager and leadership team

  • Drive and support critical initiatives that enable the V2V organization to scale effectively across multiple products and geographies.

  • Partner with leadership to identify and prioritize critical programs that ensure operational continuity and readiness.

  • Support cross-functional teams in accelerating delivery of key initiatives, removing roadblocks, and ensuring alignment.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (Commercial Operations, Growth & Partnerships, Quality, Logistics, Cryopreservation Centers, etc.) to ensure seamless coordination.

  • Monitor and report on progress of strategic programs, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.

  • Contribute to the development of future operating models and ways of working for the V2V team.

  • Maintain strong alignment with regional and global counterparts to harmonize processes and standards.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Life Sciences, or related field.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience (preferably in healthcare or advanced therapies).

  • Proven experience in supply chain or strategic program management or operations in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to zoom out for strategic thinking and dive into operational details.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • English skills (Business level) and Japanese (Business or Native level)

  • Ability to influence without direct authority and build consensus across diverse teams.

  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, ambiguous environment undergoing transformation.

  • Strong self-awareness and openness to feedback.

  • Positive, proactive mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.

Preferred:

  • Experience in supply chain, planning, customer service, or manufacturing operations.

  • Prior experience in cell therapy or GMP-regulated environments.

  • People leadership experience is a plus, but not required initially.

Other:

  • Flexibility to support patient-related operations outside regular office hours when needed.
