Job Description – Cyber Risk Specialist – Site Assessments and Audit Engagement 

RTX is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled professional to join our team as a Site Assessor for the EMEA and APAC region. In this role, you will be responsible for performing standardized, site-specific cyber risk assessments at RTX sites. Your work will play a critical role in identifying potential risks and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role will analyze and review RTX sites compliance to RTX policies, US Government data and other international regulations depending on the site’s location, document and maintain identified risk and remediation plans, and guide sites in effective remediation of risks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of risk assessment methodologies, and the ability to collaborate effectively with site personnel and cross-functional teams. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

Perform standardized risk assessments at RTX sites to identify potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and areas of non-compliance.  

Assess the effectiveness of existing risk controls and recommend improvements to mitigate identified risks.  

Work closely with site leaders and personnel to gather data, understand local operations, and ensure accurate assessment results.  

Prepare detailed reports summarizing assessment findings, including identified risks, recommended actions, and timelines for remediation.  

Work with control owners and testers to ensure controls are well defined and in compliance with RTX policies, applicable laws and regulations.  

Verify compliance with RTX policies, standards, and applicable regulatory requirements during site assessments.  

Assist in the development and implementation of effective risk mitigation plans in partnership with site teams and other stakeholders.  

Validate effectiveness of implemented risk mitigation plans 

Document and maintain findings and remediation plan in RTX’s authoritative source of record throughout the entire finding lifecycle 

Present assessment findings to site leadership and provide clear, actionable recommendations for addressing identified risks.  

Utilize and maintain standardized assessment tools and templates to ensure consistency across all evaluations.  

Partner, manage communication, and function as a liaison with auditors, members of the DT organization and the Business, in defining schedule, assessing risk, assessment scope, validating findings, and supporting the business to develop appropriate remediation actions as needed, track and report metrics. 

Receive customer requests, prioritizes responses, maintains a tracking mechanism of completed responses for consistency. 

Interfaces with Business and DT as needed to determine appropriate responses to customer inquiries. 

Implement and maintain relevant process documentation in the GRC platform. 

Travel to various RTX facilities to conduct on-site assessments as required 

Keep up-to-date with industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to enhance the quality of assessments.  

Education 

Bachelor’s degree and or 10 years of prior relevant experience OR 

Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 8 years of experience OR 

Experience with IT controls frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-171, 800-53, etc. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Security Certifications (i.e., Security +, CISSP, CISA, etc.) 

Ability to build and maintain customer relationships; strong team player, able to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities 

Ability to work collaboratively with remote team members 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proactive, critical thinking skills. 

Strong written/verbal communications skills 

Demonstrated aptitude working with diverse talent 

Industry Experience working with/for government agencies, commercial airlines, and aerospace OEMs 

Maintains a baseline understanding of relevant IT-specific frameworks referenced in customer requests or customer requests are based upon. 

Experience in cybersecurity audits 

Experience in ISO 27000 series audits

Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.

Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
