GROUND SYSTEMS ENGINEER I – ELECTRICAL
As a Ground Systems Engineer I, you will support the design, build, testing, and commissioning of launch range systems and test sites for Electron, Neutron, and Space Systems. You’ll work on electrical systems such as power generation, control systems, and launch vehicle communications, contributing to projects from concept to delivery.
This role is ideal for candidates with 1-2 years of experience in electrical design, industrial installation, or automation, with proficiency in EPLAN.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Technical
- Assist in designing and analysing electrical systems, including power, lighting, data, control systems, and cabling.
- Support circuit and panel design, component selection, and system sizing.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to optimize designs.
- Produce documentation (manuals, procedures, and work instructions).
- Drive continuous improvement and support failure investigations.
Implementation
- Support the development and maintenance of test equipment and launch pad systems.
- Assist technicians and contractors during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Essential
- Diploma/degree in electrical, mechatronic, or CAD engineering.
- 1-2 years’ experience in electrical design or engineering.
- Knowledge of low voltage AC/DC systems, PLC systems, and electrical schematics (EPLAN).
- Panel design experience and hands-on work with electrical equipment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Experience in launch systems or industrial sectors (e.g., oil and gas, mining).
- Familiarity with explosive atmosphere standards (AS/NZS/IEC 60079).
Other Requirements
- Domestic and international travel may be required.
