About the Role:
JLL is seeking an experienced Project Director with deep semiconductor industry expertise to lead complex mission-critical facility projects. Anybody interested working in the semiconductor space in India. This role requires strategic leadership in delivering high-tech manufacturing and cleanroom environments on time, within budget, and to exacting quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end project delivery for semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, and advanced manufacturing environments. Oversee project strategy, planning, execution, and closeout while managing multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder expectations.
Manage large-scale capital projects ranging from new facility construction to brownfield expansions and technology upgrades. Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and qualification phases with deep understanding of semiconductor process requirements.
Serve as primary client liaison, building trusted relationships with semiconductor manufacturers and understanding their unique operational needs. Translate technical requirements into actionable project plans while managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
Direct project teams including architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal resources. Foster collaboration across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, process utilities, cleanroom systems, and specialty equipment installation teams.
Ensure compliance with semiconductor industry standards, environmental regulations, safety protocols, and quality assurance requirements. Implement rigorous change management and commissioning processes to support seamless facility startups.
Drive financial performance through budget development, cost control, forecasting, and value engineering. Identify opportunities for optimization while maintaining technical specifications critical to semiconductor manufacturing operations.
Required Qualifications:
15-20 years of project management experience in semiconductor facilities, including fab construction, cleanroom environments, or high-tech manufacturing projects. Direct exposure to leading semiconductor manufacturers preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field. PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, cleanroom classifications (ISO 14644), and critical facility systems including ultra-pure water, specialty gases, chemical delivery, vacuum systems, and contamination control.
Experience with fast-track delivery methods, design-build approaches, and integrated project delivery models.
Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, structural requirements, vibration control, and environmental controls specific to semiconductor operations.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to influence senior executives and manage relationships with global semiconductor clients and their technical teams.
Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), and cost control systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with leading semiconductor manufacturers (Intel, TSMC, Samsung, Micron, or similar)
Knowledge of advanced packaging facilities, R&D labs, or pilot manufacturing environments
International project experience or willingness to support global assignments
Six Sigma, Lean Construction, or similar process improvement certifications
Understanding of sustainability and energy efficiency in semiconductor facility design
