Job Description

 Leidos currently has an opening for an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to support our Digital Modernization Sector, specifically within the Navy & Marine Corps IT Business Area . This is an exciting opportunity to use your skills & experience supporting a franchise Leidos program with excellent visibility within the Corporation. The selected candidate will report to the Navy & Marine Corps IT Contracts Director and support contract management and proposal activities for a portfolio component of the Business Area.

This is an individual contributor role. Additionally, this job is posted as Remote however the Business Area is located in Reston, VA.

Primary Responsibility

The Senior Contracts Manager serves as the primary interface between Leidos and Government contracts personnel.  This position will provide development, oversight, and evaluation of major proposals, monitoring major contracts, lead or assist in key negotiations, resolve performance issues, identify risks and associated mitigations, ensure compliance with Leidos policies, procedures as well as government and contract requirements.

As a subject matter expert, this individual will provide advice and counsel to Division counterparts and less experienced Contracts staff.

Regularly interact with programs, contracts, project control, finance, business development and with customers as required.

Develop or review prime contract flow down documents to ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and to minimize company liability.

Support internal/external audit activities as well as data request from internal / external customers.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience or Masters with 10+ years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with Government (FAR / DFAR) contracting: Fixed Price (FP), Time & Material (T&M), Cost Plus Award Fee (CPAF), Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF), and Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contracts
  • Must have the ability to make sound business judgments, handle multiple contractual activities with a short turn-around time, and work independently as well as part of a Team
  • The Candidate must be proficient with Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • The Candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to include well developed analytical, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to identify and mitigate contract risks as well as coordinate appropriate reviews in accordance with Leidos policy and procedures
  • Excellent negotiation skills, including experience negotiating complex terms and conditions
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to deal effectively with executive management and staff regarding Contracts issues with high degrees of complexity and work issues to resolution
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and currently possess (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated customer experience supporting Navy & Marine Corps IT contracts
  • Knowledge and understanding of Other Transaction Authorities, Commercial Solutions Openings, Teaming Agreements, FAR and Non-FAR based instruments
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, Finance, or a related field
