To begin understanding a system, the initial step is transmitting logs and other telemetry to New Relic. Our thousands of customers depend on their logs, analyzing petabytes of log data, to effectively detect and resolve issues.

We are seeking an experienced machine learning engineer to provide strategic, technical leadership within a new, fast-growing team. This team is focused on Logs Intelligence, a critical suite of AI-driven innovations designed to transform raw, unstructured log data into actionable insights. What you’ll do

• Drive and shape the technical strategy and direction for Logs Intelligence
• Architect, design, and deploy robust and scalable machine learning and GenAI systems
• Mentor and coach team members, contributing to the growth of the team and the wider engineering community
• Drive complex cross-team projects and predictably deliver high impact business results

This role requires

• 8+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting large-scale machine learning systems
• Solid experience working with GenAI models, transformers, and deep-learning techniques
• 4+ years of experience developing production-grade applications using Python
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow, KubeFlow, and Argo
• Demonstrated success in working closely with product and engineering teams, consistently driving initiatives to completion through rapid and frequent iteration

Bonus points if you have

• Familiarity with streaming platforms like Kafka
• Experience in Javascript
• Experience in Java or other similar programming languages
