Working at our McAllen Facility:


The GE Aerospace facility in McAllen is one of our centers of expertise specializing in the repair of engine components used in commercial and military aircraft. These include LPT Nozzles, HPT Nozzles, and HPT Hangars. You’ll find state-of-the-art technologies in CNC, EDM, and Coating as well as advanced technology development within our new Tech Lab.

Role Overview:


As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in manufacturing special processes, you will play a critical role in supporting business goals and programs for aircraft engine component repair. This full-time, on-site position involves developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes to ensure stability, cost reduction, and product quality. Your work will directly contribute to GE Aerospace’s mission of delivering world-class solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing special processes such as mechanical cleaning and welding.
  • Conduct metallography evaluations and generate reports for production and new product introductions.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, and process instructions to ensure process control and conformance.
  • Drive improvements that lead to cost reduction, productivity enhancements, and product quality.
  • Support repair industrializations, including tooling, planning, and equipment readiness.
  • Investigate, develop, and apply new technologies to manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and other manufacturing engineers to deliver results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing).
  • Ability to support off shifts and weekends as needed.
  • Must meet U.S. export control requirements (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, national of the United States, asylee, or refugee).
  • Must pass background and drug screenings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong material science background.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
