This evergreen posting is designed to build a strong pipeline of Task Force Catering Sales Managers, Directors of Catering, and Conference Services Managers who can support Hilton- and Marriott-branded hotels during transitions, openings, staffing gaps, or peak group demand periods. Assignments may vary in scope depending on property needs and can include full-service catering sales, group event management, convention services oversight, or departmental leadership.

These roles ensure continuity in event revenue generation, flawless planning and execution, and exceptional client relationships while bridging short-term operational gaps. Ideal candidates are polished, detail-focused hospitality professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, can quickly acclimate to new teams, and deliver immediate value.

Key Responsibilities

Event & Catering Sales

  • Manage assigned group and catering inquiries from initial lead response through contract execution
  • Conduct site visits, create tailored proposals, and negotiate contracts in alignment with brand and property standards
  • Maintain strong client relationships and maximize catering revenue opportunities
  • Partner with sales, revenue, and culinary teams to ensure proposals are accurate and competitive

Conference & Event Services

  • Oversee group and catering programs from turnover through on-site execution
  • Serve as the primary on-property liaison for meeting planners and group contacts
  • Create accurate event orders, diagrams, timelines, and billing details
  • Coordinate seamlessly with banquets, culinary, AV, and operations teams

On-Site Execution & Guest Service

  • Ensure events are executed according to brand and service standards
  • Provide leadership during event operations, supporting banquet and service teams as needed
  • Resolve client needs and service recovery issues professionally and efficiently

Operational Continuity & Leadership

  • Maintain clear communication with property and corporate leadership during task force assignments
  • Uphold departmental processes, organization, and documentation to ensure smooth hand-off post-assignment
  • Support catering and event teams with coaching, best practices, and daily execution during transition periods

What are we looking for?

  • Experience as a Catering Sales Manager, Senior Catering Manager, Director of Catering, or Conference / Event Services Manager
    Hilton (Delphi/OnQ) and/or Marriott (CI/TY/Marsha) brand experience strongly preferred (Delphi, CI/TY, Envision, or comparable systems)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of event planning, BEO creation, forecasting, and catering sales processes
  • Exceptional communication, client-service, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to thrive in short-term assignments, adapt quickly, and make an immediate operational impact
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail across both sales and execution functions
  • Essential statistical and analytical skills required to identify revenue opportunities and shortfalls.
  • Someone with the availability to work when the events are happening, i.e. weekends, nights and holidays

Employment Status & Benefits

Task Force roles are classified as temporary, full-time positions. Temporary employees are not eligible for medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, or bonus programs.

Compensation

Task Force assignments are compensated on a weekly rate basis and paid biweekly or in accordance with the property’s payroll schedule. Compensation is determined based on role level, scope, location, and assignment complexity. The pay range for this position is $1,200–$2,500 per week, depending on assignment level. Actual compensation will be confirmed at the time of assignment.
