Engineering Area Leader, Operations Technology and Support Engineering is responsible for setting the strategic direction, driving technical solutioning, and ensuring delivery of outcomes across Ops Workstation, Mutual Funds, and Baskets in partnership with product leaders. This role also leads the Brokerage Recordkeeping Technology R4 Organization, which is responsible for ensuring platform stability through four key pillars: being Responsive by managing and resolving day‑to‑day production issues; maintaining Readiness by ensuring all enhancements are thoroughly validated and production‑ready; ensuring Reliability through effective infrastructure management; and promoting Resiliency by partnering across the platform to cultivate a culture of robust, standards‑aligned technology delivery. This role defines the engineering vision, aligns technology initiatives with business priorities, and enables enterprise-scale outcomes through innovation and technical excellence. The Engineering Area Leader is accountable for leading engineering practices, optimizing resources, and developing talent while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
The Value You Deliver
Active engagement in key routines throughout the product lifecycle (e.g., in domain/product area strategy planning sessions, read-outs, demos, etc.)
Drive delivery outcomes to achieve both product and function-specific KPIs
Accountable for alignment and definition of vision, goals and direction for the function across multiple domains and product areas in support of the business strategy
Share decision-making with product area leader on roadmap and design solutions
Establish high standards, practices for the function making connections across the enterprise
Partner with product leaders to optimize resources by identifying and acquiring top talent, resource planning and talent allocation across products
Responsible for strategic workforce planning in support of the complete product lifecycle
Align on dependencies and manage tradeoffs with product leaders and domain leaders
Proactively align capacity/resources to shifting product priorities
Drive scale and resource optimization through ownership of workforce plan

Expertise and Skills You Bring
You have proven organizational leadership with an ability to inspire teams, coach and grow leaders, and attract great talent
Experience in defining and executing on large complex programs
Deep expertise in building scaled distributed systems, leveraging modern frameworks
You have executive level experience leading the development of business solutions and offerings aligned with and in support of the strategic direction of the organization
Recent experience leading teams building and deploying applications to the public cloud.
Experience bringing financial accountability to the variable spend model of cloud, enabling distributed teams to make business trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality a plus.
Experience with identifying talent needs; recruiting and onboarding engineers; strategic resource planning and talent allocation within and across large organizations
You effectively develop and promote your expertise and perspectives and develop the same rigor across your engineering area and throughout a cross-functional, matrixed environment
You have a continuous improvement mindset
You have strong interpersonal and relationship building skills that enable you to engage cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
You utilize a data-driven approach for decision making, both in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
10-15 years of experience leading multiple teams
4-year degree in Computer Science or other relevant education
Currently hold or able to obtain Series 7 or 99 certification if required
