Job Description
We are looking for a proactive and curious Junior Product Designer to join our Platform Tribe (specifically the Front End & Design team). While you’ll be embedded in the platform area, your impact will be felt across the entire Mesh product, working on various complex features.
What You Will Be Doing
- End-to-End Design: Develop user solutions by creating low-fidelity wireframes, functional workflows, and high-fidelity UI designs in Figma.
- Collaborative Design: Work closely with the Product Design team and Product Managers across multiple feature teams, supporting requirements, functionality, product strategy and roadmap definition.
- Engineering teamwork: Collaborate with FE engineers to handover design, understand technical constraints and create viable solutions.
- Executive Support: 75% of your time will be spent on core product design—solving user problems and building UI—while 25% will be spent working directly with our CPTO, Mark Watson, helping to create and refine high-impact external materials and presentations.
- Design System Contribution: Maintain and contribute to our evolving design system, ensuring consistency across all platform components.
- From Reactive to Proactive: Help the team transition from a fast-paced "reactive" delivery style to a more planned, research-driven design process.
- User centric: Develop a deep understanding of the target audience and ensure that designs meet their needs.
About You
We don’t expect you to have decades of experience, but we are looking for a specific blend of skills and attitude:
- The "All-Rounder": You have a solid balance of UX and UI skills.
- Communication is Key: You are comfortable speaking with everyone from engineers to C-level executives. You aren't afraid to ask "why" or seek clarification.
- Adaptable & Resilient: You thrive in dynamic environments where roadmaps might change based on fresh stakeholder feedback, and you can manage multiple tasks without losing focus.
- Tech Savvy: You are proficient in Figma and Jira. If you have an interest in or awareness of how AI assistants can speed up your workflow, that’s a huge plus.
- Growth Mindset: You are eager to learn, open to design critiques, keen to collaborate with other designers, and motivated to move toward self-sufficiency.
- Curious: You are keen to expand your knowledge and understanding of AI and how it is being applied in real-world situations to improve efficiency and quality.
Must-Haves
- Previous work experience in a relevant design role (internships or junior roles).
- A portfolio that demonstrates your ability to define workflows and build UI.
- A proactive attitude—we value ownership over waiting for instructions.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience or interest in A/B testing and conducting client interviews.
- Familiarity with AI tools for material generation.
What’s in it for you?
- Equity as we want you to have a part of what we are building
- Private medical insurance designed to keep you ensuring peace of mind while you excel in your career
- Unlimited Time Off Policy - A work-life balance and focus on our well-being are critical to keeping us performing at our best
- We embrace a hybrid approach that requires employees to be in the office for two days a week. We strongly believe that this approach fosters collaboration and enables the building of meaningful relationships
- You will also get a new starter budget to kit out your home office
- Opportunity to work on innovative projects with smart-minded people keen to share their knowledge and continuously improve
- Annual learning budg
