Major Duties
The Network Management Analytics Consultant team plays a pivotal role in the effective oversight and execution of the Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) review process for primary sub-custodians, resiliency sub-custodians, and Nostro/Banking providers within Northern Trust’s global network.
The Specialist Analytics Consultant (P4) is the team’s senior individual contributor who supports, enables, and quality‑assures the work of Senior Analytics Consultants. They lead the most complex analytics reviews, act as first‑line escalation for DDQ/DDRA interpretations, and co‑own frameworks, methods, and standards with the Team Manager elevating the team’s output and development.
Responsibilities
Provides continuous support to the Team Manager of Analytics Team with regards delivery, strategy and development
Provide senior technical and analytical oversight and leadership of the DDQ review process, taking ownership of the most complex and high‑risk sub‑custodian and banking provider assessments. Set review standards, guide consultants on execution, and ensure outputs are complete, consistent, and aligned to operational, risk, and service expectations.
Has a senior position with quality assurance and sign off responsibilities within the group
Lead advanced analytics and benchmarking, developing deeper comparative insights across providers, identifying emerging risk patterns, and validating the analytical outputs prepared by consultants to ensure accuracy, alignment, and strong evidential foundations.
Act as a senior analytical partner in the Due Diligence Risk Assessment (DDRA) process, considering risk positions, challenging assumptions, and shaping clear, actionable recommendations that meet regulatory, resiliency, and business requirements.
Serve as the primary subject‑matter escalation point for internal business units and team members, providing authoritative interpretation of DDQ findings, operational impacts, risk considerations, and guidance on complex service‑model questions.
Drive the adoption and evolution of analytics‑driven methodologies, including enhancements to frameworks, tools, templates, and quality standards, improving decision‑making, risk detection, and operational efficiency across the Network Management function.
Lead or materially contribute to provider RFPs and strategic resiliency initiatives, applying rigorous analytical evaluation, defining assessment criteria, and supporting provider selection outcomes that strengthen Northern Trust’s global network coverage.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent custody and asset‑servicing experience, with strong practical understanding of risk management or due diligence functions; able to interpret complex operational themes and translate them into clear risk and control considerations.
Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to influence comparative analysis approaches, validate evidence, identify emerging patterns across projects, and provide well‑supported insights for DDQ and DDRA activities.
Exceptional relatable skills with a proven ability to review data and identify areas of risk, providing judgment, and challenging/improving frameworks
Ability to guide methods and working approaches for the broader team, offering direction on related routines and functions.
Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to effectively engage external providers and internal stakeholders taking a leadership role within the team.
