The Position
The Principal Business Analyst possesses in-depth knowledge of the business domain, relevant technologies, and organizational strategy to provide holistic, enterprise-wide consulting advice. In this role, you will apply systems thinking to navigate the complexity of interconnected systems.This involves close collaboration with data producers and consumers, ensuring the to-be data flow comprehensively addresses key aspects to meet business objectives. You will oversee initiatives with full autonomy and lead analysis efforts across highly ambiguous spaces. Acting as a trusted advisor to leadership, you will actively shape long-term roadmaps, drive consensus through persuasive communication, and recommend optimal technology solutions for sustainable business transformation.

Job Responsibilities
Scope / (Content Leadership): Oversees initiatives or streams with autonomy, coordinating complexity and scale. Defines and leads analysis efforts across highly ambiguous spaces, navigates complex frameworks, and delegates work while managing the quality of business analysis content.
Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of business problems, defining the problem space and driving comprehensive root cause analysis that may span organizational boundaries. Proactively prevents scope creep, manages the complexity of various scopes of change, and is ultimately accountable for business analysis deliverables ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives.
Stakeholder Management: Identifies and engages key stakeholders, including management, across organizational boundaries. Shapes strategy as a trusted advisor to leadership, actively navigates conflicts to achieve alignment, and empowers teams in stakeholder management.
Impact/Strategy: Drives significant impact on projects and programs by ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions that align with business strategy. Leads the evaluation of strategic solution options, including advanced value analysis and risk assessment, and actively shapes long-term roadmaps.
Complexity / (Product Size): Works typically on a product or product line level, effectively managing highly ambiguous and evolving requirements in dynamic environments. Demonstrates a holistic viewpoint to analyze problems, considering potential micro and macro implications across related domains.
Business / Technical ability: Uses in-depth knowledge of the business or technical domain and relevant technologies to inform business strategies. Leads the application of tools, principles, and techniques across complex and cross-functional initiatives, anticipating challenges and proactively integrating analysis into broader solution design.
Data Product Ownership and life-cycle management: Leads the end-to-end design of scalable data products, translating ambiguous business strategies into technical data schemas and intuitive visualization interfaces. Owns the "Data Product Lifecycle," ensuring consistent data cleansing standards, metadata documentation, and the eventual evolution. Conducts in-depth data analysis to derive actionable insights using data products. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves data issues to ensure data integrity and quality, addresses data transformation-related issues, and resolves data format conversion-related issues. Collaborates with data engineers, developers and information architects to support data-related tasks and projects.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
Extensive experience overseeing initiatives with autonomy, coordinating complexity and scale, and driving alignment across highly ambiguous spaces including Digital, Data or AI Driven programs.
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Business Analysis Advisory/Consultancy concepts and practices.
Proven track record of recommending optimal technology solutions for sustainable business transformation and working on unusually complex problems with highly innovative solutions.
Proven track record of taking a data product from initial business ambiguity through to a production-ready solution. This includes requirements discovery, schema design, and long-term maintenance.
Possess strong knowledge and expertise in pharmacovigilance (PV) systems and processes, including Case Management, Signal Detection and Management, and Aggregate Reporting.
Technical Skills
Ability to apply systems thinking to provide holistic and enterprise-wide consulting advice.
Strong capability to extend standard approaches by tailoring methods to fit the problem space, often combining methodologies to create tailored approaches.
Mastery in requirements and domain knowledge, with the ability to conduct comprehensive root cause analysis and advanced value and risk assessments.
Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data visualization techniques and tools (e.g., Tableau, Spotfire or Power BI).
Strong understanding of relational and non-relational data structures. Ability to design star schemas or flat-file structures optimized for business consumption.
Proficiency with Pharmacovigilance / Safety Case Management and/or Reporting solutions (e.g., LSMV/ARISg, Oracle Argus Safety, PV Reports, Signal Detection and Management Tools etc) is essential.
