Job Title: Enterprise Architect: Data & AI

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

This is an opportunity to be an integral part of an evolving Enterprise Architecture practice that delivers the most efficient and effective combination of technology, processes, data, and applications to enable Rolls-Royce to execute its vision, values, and strategy.

In this role you will be responsible for the Data & AI layers of the enterprise architecture to ensure that it supports our next generation digital products, leveraging big data and cloud technologies to enhance and accelerate our Digital and IT capabilities.

You’ll be defining our forward looking strategy and roadmaps that will shape the future of our business. We’ll actively support your development and your path to professional accreditation, as well as offering flexible working.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Creation and ownership of the technology strategy for the Data & AI layers of the Enterprise Architecture model, incorporating data platforms, big data, and public cloud
  • Ownership of the 5-year roadmap of investments for Data & AI, including indicative costs, timescales, and development of supporting business case
  • Definition and communication of capable Reference Architectures and other Architecture Building Blocks (ABB) for use in the design and delivery of solutions
  • Identification of new technologies and products for exploitation across the enterprise, and opportunities for optimisation
  • Liaison with other internal Rolls-Royce teams and stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture, Digital & IT Solution Teams, and IT Security, as well as outsourced service providers to enable the execution of the strategy

Who we’re looking for:

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in IT Architecture, OR
  • Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in IT Architecture, OR
  • JD/PhD, with 3 years of experience in IT Architecture
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Proven IT Architecture experience with a proven track record in establishing and maturing a Data Architecture domain
  • Extensive experience of building enterprise-scale data and AI capabilities across a global estate
  • Strong domain knowledge of Data & AI, including familiarity with cloud data and AI platforms (e.g. MS Azure, AWS Google Cloud) and big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Spark)
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex business scenarios
  • Working knowledge of TOGAF, DAMA-DMBOK, or similar frameworks is a plus
