Position Summary
The Ld. Director of Facilities is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of two 24/7/365 Mission Critical Data Centers, and our corporate facilities and properties in CT. The Ld. Director of Facilities Management and Planning provide strategic leadership, coordination, and administrative oversight to property and facility needs to include- construction, space planning and real estate needs, lease administration, facility and property management, annual operating and capital budgeting, staff supervision and training, vendor management, and space/expense allocation tracking. This role will provide dynamic leadership and oversight to the Facilities Management Team and establish long range business and operating plans along with setting near term priorities.

Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive facilities Master Plan incorporating all current and potential facilities; assist senior management on strategic and tactical facility planning, land and property identification and/or development, facility space use and other matters involving the use of physical assets and real property leases under the clinic’s name.
  • Oversee and evaluate all facilities management operations and staff; provide administrative direction to ensure that all facilities planning, development, leasing, construction, physical movement of personnel/services and management of activities and initiatives are consistent with the strategic, operational, and fiscal needs and objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to achieve greater energy efficiencies in all facilities operations, leading initiatives to develop strategies to promote responsible and productive sustainability focused efforts in all facilities activities.
  • In coordination with the Area Director of Facilities Management, assume responsibility for physical conditions, and workplace safety of the facilities. Prepare disaster and contingency plans for facility needs based on identified risks. Oversee coordination and technical assistance for code compliance, ADA compliance, and other health and safety matters as needed for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Establish and implement effective and efficient department procedures as well as provide oversight and support to all design, engineering, leasing, and construction activities for all Area Corporate PBM locations. Provide support and consultation to supervisor and other administrators relative to construction projects, to facilitate prudent budgetary management, planning, scheduling, safety, reliability and functional performance.
  • Design, establish and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives, develop expectations for performance and standards of excellence; oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of maintenance staff.
  • Develop and maintain fiscal accountability for all assets, labor, and utilities. This includes forecasting, headcount, and spend tracking for all applicable facilities budgets.
  • Establish and implement short and long range facility renovation and renewal goals (including the tracking of deferred maintenance), objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate programmatic and operational effectiveness, and effect changes required for improvement.
  • Ensure all required Data Center shutdowns are planned and executed to address required preventive maintenance, upgrades, and capital investment
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Required Qualifications

1.   10+ years  of increasingly responsible experience in facilities management, including capital planning, management of construction projects and other activities related to the duties and responsibilities required by a multi-site operation.

2.     Examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.

3.     Planning, programming, development and implementation of renovation and new construction projects.

4.     Knowledge of real estate management principles and techniques.

5.     Functional experience with the review, development, and tracking of real estate lease documents.

6.     Bachelor’s Degree related to Business Administration, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Facility Management, related discipline or accumulation of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk long distances. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds. The employee will also be required to use ladders or other lifting devices.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$100,000.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
