We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join GE HealthCare’s materials management team. The Buyer will be responsible for end-to-end material procurement, order tracking, inventory control, full information flow management and cross-functional communication, as well as timely resolution of procurement and supply chain exceptions. Job Description
1. Material Procurement Management
Execute end-to-end procurement activities for direct/indirect materials in line with GE HealthCare’s procurement policies and quality standards, including supplier quotation comparison, negotiation, purchase order creation, placement and follow-up.
Conduct supplier communication and coordination, ensure timely delivery of qualified materials, and maintain stable supplier collaboration.
Optimize procurement channels, continuously evaluate supplier performance, and promote the improvement of supply chain reliability.
2. Procurement & Inventory Tracking
Track the whole process of procurement orders in real time, including production, shipment, transit and receipt of materials, and update procurement status in a timely manner.
Implement scientific inventory management strategies, monitor inventory levels, conduct inventory analysis, and balance inventory turnover rate to avoid overstock, stock-out or stagnant materials.
Cooperate with warehouse, production and quality teams to complete material receipt, inspection and warehousing, and ensure the accuracy of inventory data.
3. Information Flow Management & Communication
Take charge of the whole process tracking and management of procurement-related information flow, including demand collection, order confirmation, delivery notification, exception feedback and file archiving.
Maintain smooth communication with internal departments (production, planning, quality, finance, etc.) and external suppliers, timely transmit demand and supply information, and coordinate cross-departmental work.
Standardize procurement information recording and sorting, ensure the integrity and traceability of procurement data, and provide accurate data support for team work.
4. Exception Problem Solving
Proactively identify and resolve procurement exceptions including delivery delays, quality non-conformity, price disputes and supply interruptions, and formulate effective solutions to minimize business impact.
Track the closed-loop management of exception issues, summarize root causes, and promote the optimization of procurement and supply chain processes to avoid repeated exceptions.
5. Lean & Cost Optimization
Apply lean thinking to optimize procurement and inventory management processes, eliminate waste in the supply chain, and improve operational efficiency.
Establish strong cost awareness, conduct procurement cost analysis, control procurement costs through negotiation, process optimization and supplier management, and achieve cost reduction targets.
Participate in lean improvement projects of the team, put forward feasible optimization suggestions, and promote the continuous improvement of materials management work.
Job Requirements
1. Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering or related fields.
☑ years or above of procurement/buyer work experience, medical device or healthcare industry experience is preferred.
Familiar with procurement processes, inventory management principles and supply chain operation modes.
2. Core Competencies
Lean Mindset: Proficient in lean management concepts and tools, able to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency continuously.
Communication & Coordination: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong cross-functional communication and coordination ability, able to effectively communicate with internal teams and external suppliers.
Cost Awareness: Sharp cost control awareness, able to balance quality, delivery and cost, and implement cost optimization measures.
Problem-Solving: Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability, able to quickly respond to and resolve procurement and supply chain exceptions.
Detail Orientation: High attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility and rigorous work attitude, able to ensure accuracy of procurement and inventory work.
3. Skills & Qualifications
Proficient in office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), able to conduct data statistics and analysis independently.
Familiar with ERP or procurement management systems is a plus.
Good English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing, able to complete English communication and document processing.
Strong teamwork spirit, proactive work attitude, able to work under pressure and adapt to fast-paced work environment.
