The Position
Roche Digital Technology (RDT) is where innovation meets purpose. As a global team at the heart of Roche, we are a community of business-minded technologists committed to help shape tomorrow’s digital future of healthcare. Our mission is to power Roche through cutting-edge digital technologies, harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence, data, and scalable tech innovations. As a Team Lead Engineering Patient Safety Risk Management, you will join our Safety Risk Profile Management team to develop the engineering capabilities that protect our patients. You will foster a culture of psychological safety and sustainable growth, empowering your team to self-define their career journeys while removing systemic roadblocks. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing technical group dedicated to managing the comprehensive benefit-risk profile for drug and device products.
We lead the digital evolution of Patient Safety at a global scale. As part of our IT leadership team, you will drive the operational excellence of mission-critical systems that enable Pharmacovigilance (PV) for one of the world's largest pharmaceutical portfolios.
Our domain covers the end-to-end safety lifecycle, including Signal Management, Risk Mitigation, Literature Screening, and Reference Safety Information (RSI). You will manage a high-performing team responsible for the steady-state operations and technical health of these platforms, ensuring seamless global compliance while supporting innovative programs like our One Safety Medical Device initiative in a fast-paced, AI-driven environment.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will be the catalyst for technical excellence and team health, ensuring our engineering practices align with the long-term vision of patient safety. You will co-create the technical strategy for a product portfolio that manages critical data-driven insights from global markets to monitor and reduce product risk.
Lead and Mentor: Proactively identify future-focused engineering capabilities and mentor team members on long-term career paths, creating a balanced and high-performing talent portfolio.

Strategic Optimization: Define success metrics and lead process re-engineering efforts to create step-change improvements in performance across multiple development teams.
Foster Collaboration: Design initiatives to improve psychological safety and remove complex, cross-functional impediments, ensuring a healthy pipeline of skills and sustainable work-pace.
Stakeholder & Financial Management: Manage relationships with senior leadership, oversee the team budget (including headcount and vendor contracts), and support business cases for large-scale initiatives.
Who you are
You are a visionary leader who thrives in navigating ambiguity and possesses a lean and agile mindset. You are passionate about breaking down silos and empowering autonomous teams to deliver impactful results in a regulated environment.
Experienced Leader: You bring a strong and established track record in people leadership, product/service management, or program management, specifically within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare technology industry. You are experienced in working on cross-functional topics such as reference safety information management or clinical safety literature management, and supporting portfolio teams in making sharp decisions.
Technical Strategist: You possess a deep understanding of software development methodologies, service delivery, and solution/information architecture.
VACC Mindset: You exhibit servant and creative leadership (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) with a demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams and manage complex risks progressively.
Business Acumen: You hold a Bachelor or advanced degree (Business or IT specialization preferred) and demonstrate executive presence with a keen focus on major IT market trends.
Collaborative Catalyst: You have an enterprise mindset, focused on delivery through collaboration and bringing people together across organizational boundaries to work toward a common purpose.
