Position Summary...

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Management – Carrier Performance is a critical leadership role responsible for driving service excellence, cost discipline, and performance accountability across Walmart’s third party carrier network. This role sits at the center of transportation execution and strategy, owning on time delivery, primary tender acceptance, load visibility, and carrier engagement across the enterprise.

This is a highly visible, cross functional position that partners closely with senior leaders across all business units, as well as executive stakeholders within the external carrier community. The successful candidate will lead best in class service and cost initiatives, shape carrier performance strategy, and ensure disciplined execution as the network evolves.

What you'll do...

  • Own and continuously improve carrier performance outcomes, including on‑time delivery, tender acceptance, visibility compliance, and service reliability
  • Lead strategic initiatives that balance service excellence and cost efficiency across a complex transportation network
  • Partner with senior leadership across merchandising, supply chain, transportation, and planning to align carrier performance with business priorities
  • Drive carrier engagement strategies, escalation models, and corrective action plans for underperforming lanes or providers
  • Influence network design and award strategies through data‑driven insights and performance trends
  • Act as a senior point of contact for the carrier ecosystem, representing Walmart with credibility and authority


What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience leading carrier performance, carrier procurement, transportation sales and/or transportation operations at scale in a complex, fast‑paced environment
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Deep understanding of transportation KPIs, carrier economics, and market conditions.
  • Demonstrated success delivering measurable improvements in service, cost, and operational stability
  • A strategic thinker who can translate complex data into clear actions and outcomes

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field and 4 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related
area OR 6 years’ experience in logistics, distribution, transportation, or related area.
2 years’ experience with advanced functionality of Microsoft Office.
