JOB PURPOSE

This role is part of our Experience & Engineering team in Germany. We combine technology and experience design to create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products, and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is digital experiences and communication that change perceptions and shape new behaviours to make a difference in the market.

As a Lead Desugber, you define and drive the visual foundation for scalable, brand-consistent and joyful product experiences at system level and across multiple teams. You combine vision and execution, strategy and pragmatism, system thinking and craft.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Define and drive the vision for a scalable, multi-brand design system – shaping not just its look, but its structure, evolution and role within the product ecosystem
  • Ensure high design quality through hands-on work, reviews, and clear system standards
  • Drive component refactoring, documentation and motion guidelines together with the design system team
  • Champion cross-functional alignment by connecting product goals with system strategy and design excellence
  • Support and guide the team through structure, coaching and pragmatic decision-making
  • Foster a design-driven culture by sharing knowledge, building trust and setting the bar for visual craft
  • Own and shape service processes that help teams apply and extend the system with clarity and confidence

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end UX design and guide a senior team toward cohesive user journeys
  • Strong execution skills with the ability to deliver high-quality designs across many screens and breakpoints
  • Deep expertise in responsive design across multiple devices and complex environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma or Frontify to produce high-fidelity design work
  • Ability to set design standards and mentor designers to elevate craft and quality
  • Experience leading by example through design excellence, mentoring, and clear system thinking;
  • Assertiveness; you’re and independent thinker that is able to go beyond backlogs items and client briefs by challenging the status quo and provide new ideas and perspectives.
  • A pragmatic mindset: you know when to push, when to align, and how to move things forward;
  • Working proficiency in English AND German is a must

WE OFFER:

  • Flexible, hybrid working policy (1-2 days at the office, depending on location);
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Lease bike options / JobRad and 25% subsidy for the Deutschlandticket.
  • Occasional breakfast/lunch at the office, Smoothie Tuesdays.
  • Stay happy and healthy with a contribution to your health through the OpenUp platform;
  • €50 personal monthly allowance via our dedicated benefits apps for use across daily expenses and lifestyle perks.
  • Future Bens - Exclusive access to sustainable, healthy products at attractive deals.
  • Social events, plenty of opportunities to connect with colleagues through organised activities and celebrations.
