The Role

Reporting to the Product Documentation Manager within Technology Operations, the Staff Technical Writer is responsible for elevating the quality, clarity, and technical depth of documentation across BeyondTrust’s cloud-native products and platform capabilities.

This role partners closely with engineering teams to produce technically accurate documentation for platform architecture, APIs, and security-sensitive functionality. The Staff Technical Writer plays a key role in ensuring documentation meets the needs of engineers, customers, and internal teams operating in a complex SaaS and cybersecurity environment.

As BeyondTrust continues evolving its cloud-native platform and AI-forward capabilities, this role will help establish a higher documentation standard across the organization by producing high-quality technical content and influencing documentation practices through expertise and collaboration. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on technical depth, platform documentation, and raising the documentation quality bar across the Product Documentation team.

What You’ll Do

  • Author and maintain highly technical documentation for cloud-native products and platform capabilities.
  • Produce clear, accurate documentation for APIs, platform services, authentication systems, and security-related functionality.
  • Partner directly with engineering teams to understand complex technical systems and translate them into structured, accessible documentation.
  • Lead documentation efforts for technically complex product initiatives and platform features.
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects platform architecture and evolving system capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and technical program managers to align documentation with product releases and platform evolution.
  • Contribute to improving documentation structure, standards, and quality across the Product Documentation team.
  • Review technical documentation for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Support documentation alignment across multiple cloud-native products and shared platform capabilities.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve documentation usability, structure, and technical accuracy.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience writing highly technical documentation for SaaS, platform, or enterprise software environments.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, authentication systems, networking concepts, and cloud architecture.
  • Ability to read technical specifications and work directly with engineers to extract and clarify complex technical information.
