Job Description

About the role:

The Insights and Product Analytics team (IPA) organization is responsible for business performance of all research products and performs analysis related to all aspects of Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights business unit. The Retention Analytics and Applied IVR team within IPA is at the forefront of harnessing the latest analytics and AI advancements to define paths to higher client retention. The team leads analytics across several fronts spanning content, interactions, conferences and all other Gartner client facing assets. The team also leads critical pillars like associate performance analytics, budget and financial analysis (in partnership with the finance organization).

We are looking for a Data analyst who has a passion for analytical problem solving to be part of our growing team. This is a unique and build-focused role, where the Data Analyst will help shape processes, tools, and methodologies—rather than simply executing a pre-defined playbook. This individual will solve a wide range of problems related to content analytics, interaction and events analytics, demand sensing, staffing models, cost reporting, automation, expert performance analytics, standard reporting, and ad-hoc analytics. The position also requires conducting dataset analysis, including identifying and sourcing data when it is not readily available. Individuals in this role will work closely with IPA leadership to structure problems, identify data sources, perform analysis, and communicate findings. Strong performers will build skills to independently own project workstreams and interact with stakeholders. Projects will include a mix of team problem solving and independent problem solving. Projects will also involve automation and collaboration with the Information Technology team.

What you’ll do:

  • Own problem structuring, analysis and implementation of strategic initiatives and key, cross-organizational deliverables.

  • Partner with data scientist and data engineering teams to develop scalable and advanced analytics-based solutions that directly help with improved client retention.

  • Analyze large amounts of data to derive business insights

  • Play a key role in projects around budgeting, resource planning to associate performance analytics.

  • Interact with business leaders to understand their pain areas and build solutions catering to their needs.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience involving analysis of large volumes of data with strong hands-on experience with analytical tools.  Ability to gather, analyze, restructure, identify and articulate insights from qualitative and quantitative data.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with quantitative concentration (e.g., statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, operational research, computer science, or economics).

  • Exceptional problem solving: Proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively, and using data to tell a story. Comfort with ambiguity and independent problem-solving; ability to propose solutions and paths forward even when problems or datasets are not fully defined.

  • Leadership: Shown ability to engage teams and key stakeholders.

  • Technical proficiency: Strong SQL and Data Warehousing skills, including ability to independently write queries (joins, aggregations, window functions). Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and foundational statistics/data science concepts. Familiarity with Python, Databricks, and Power BI is a plus

  • Collaboration: Strong collaboration and influencing. Experience working cross-functionally is a plus

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication as well as the ability to work independently.

  • Location: Gartner offers a hybrid (twice in a week from office) that allows associates great flexibility and opportunities to connect with colleagues for moments that matter on-site. Candidates that apply will need to reside within a reasonable proximity to a Gartner’s Centers of Excellence office location (Gurgaon)

What you will get:

  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, Group Medical Insurance, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and more!

  • Collaborative, team-oriented culture that embraces diversity

  • Professional development and unlimited growth opportunities
