Description of Work

As of the date of this initial posting, this position is considered subject to the North Carolina Human Resources Act. The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is seeking a Senior Auditor to serve on our Medicaid Audit Division. In this position, the Senior Auditor will perform advanced Medicaid audit work and will provide technical guidance to other audit staff.

As part of our team, you will get to:
Participate in audit planning meetings for assigned Medicaid audits
Gain understandings of Medicaid programs, processes, and internal controls relevant to the audit objectives
Develop and perform audit testing procedures designed to address identified Medicaid risks
Determine the elements of the audit findings
Serve as a technical resource to the audit team and will provide guidance to other staff members

Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000

• Understands and applies auditing standards, Medicaid laws, regulations, and CMS guidance to the audit process

• Ability to work cooperatively with audit team members and auditees

• Ability to proactively identify ways to contribute to efficient and effective Medicaid audits

Minimum Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree with 12 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 3 years of experience in auditing/accounting or program evaluation
