Title and Summary

Senior Analyst, Internal Audit Strategy

Overview

Internal Audit provides independent, objective assurance designed to improve Mastercard’s operations and control environment. Internal Audit helps Mastercard accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management. Internal Audit also performs advisory and consultative services to support business owners as they enhance their controls and business operations.

Strategy, Innovation & Enablement (SIE) powers the Internal Audit function, providing standards, insights, innovation, process optimization and training. More specifically, SIE drives excellence and impact through executing strategy, fostering innovation, ensuring robust governance, enabling efficient practices, optimizing audit operations and delivering insightful reporting.

Role

The Senior Analyst, Internal Audit Strategy, Innovation & Enablement plays a key advisory role in helping Internal Audit operate as a modern, insight‑driven function. This role partners closely with Internal Audit leadership to enhance audit effectiveness through strategic enablement, process optimization, and consultative support.

The role focuses on advisory enablement rather than audit execution, supporting how audits are planned, staffed, delivered, and communicated. The Senior Analyst acts as an internal consultant—helping leaders identify opportunities to improve audit practices, optimize resourcing, strengthen capabilities, and deliver meaningful insights to stakeholders.

This position is ideal for a candidate with a consulting mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. Success in this role requires comfort operating in ambiguity, influencing without authority, and balancing strategic priorities with execution.

• Build and continuously enhance the Internal Audit Training and Education Program, including onboarding, ongoing learning, and capability development aligned to evolving risks and business priorities
• Support audit planning, resourcing, and scheduling through a risk‑ and insight‑based lens, helping leadership anticipate capacity needs and delivery risks
• Partner with leadership to identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, and innovation across the audit lifecycle
• Coordinate staff augmentation and external advisory support to address capacity or specialized skill needs
• Monitor audit execution progress and provide forward‑looking insights on resourcing, timing, and delivery risks
• Prepare and curate executive‑ready materials, dashboards, and insights for Internal Audit Leadership Team discussions
• Support leadership priorities, strategic initiatives, and special projects requiring analytical, advisory, or change‑management support
• Provide ad hoc consultative, analytical, and project management support to the SIE team and Audit leadership
• Support governance and operational processes (e.g., T&E oversight) with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and control discipline

All About You

• Experience in consulting, internal audit, risk, compliance, finance, or a similar advisory environment
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, management, or a related field
• Strong ability to advise, influence, and partner with senior leaders through clear insights and structured recommendations
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple initiatives or workstreams in fast‑paced, evolving environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive‑level or Board‑ready materials
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities
• Familiarity with governance, regulatory response processes, or audit reporting is preferred
• Experience supporting Audit Committee or Board‑level reporting is a plus
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with audit or GRC tools (e.g., IBM OpenPages) is a plus
