A Day in the Life

A Manufacturing Technician is responsible for supporting the production of high-quality products by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment in a regulated environment. The role involves following detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality requirements to ensure products meet safety, performance, and compliance standards. Manufacturing Technicians perform assembly, testing, inspection, and documentation activities while adhering to safety guidelines and good manufacturing practices (GMP). They collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to identify issues, support continuous improvement initiatives, and help maintain efficient, reliable production processes.

         

         

1st shift - 5:30am - 2:00pm

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

• Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
• Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
• Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
• Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
• May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
• May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent (United States), vocational or technical education or certification (all other countries).

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or automotive)
• Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and quality systems
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with manufacturing equipment, tools
• Comfort with documentation and electronic manufacturing systems
