SUMMARY

We are on the hunt for a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Technical Designer to join our dynamic team, specializing in Home & Soft Goods for our Rockfit Division! The successful candidate will play a vital role in the technical design process, collaborating closely with our senior technical designer and cross-functional teams to ensure our products achieve the highest standards of fit, construction, and quality. WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Technical Design Assistance: Dive into the technical design process for soft goods, including bags, accessories, and hard goods! You'll assist in crafting technical packages that include specs, construction details, and measurement charts.
  • Sample Review: Review and evaluate development samples for fit, construction, and overall quality with a keen eye! You'll communicate necessary changes and follow up on sample corrections to ensure excellence.
  • Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with senior technical designers, product developers, and factories to turn design concepts into production-ready samples. Your contributions will help resolve technical issues throughout the product development cycle.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of technical specifications, fit comments, and sample evaluations organized and up-to-date! Your attention to detail will shine in this important task.
  • Quality Control: Help establish and maintain top-notch quality standards for fabrics, trims, and construction! You’ll support the technical team in conducting quality checks and inspections to ensure our products are the best they can be.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay ahead of the curve by keeping informed about industry trends, advancements in materials, and best practices in technical design! Your insights will support the integration of new techniques to enhance product performance.
  • Technical Execution: Develop detailed tech packs, sketches, and technical specifications for production.
  • Design & Development: Assist in creating tech packs, flat sketches, and detailed technical drawings using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Coordination: Maintain design records, update PLM systems, and communicate with vendors/production teams.

ABOUT YOU

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of technical design experience in soft goods. 
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of pattern making, garment construction, and grading is essential! Experience with PLM systems is required; experience with Centric PLM is a bonus. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software will make you shine!
  • Detail-Oriented: You have a strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in technical documentation and sample evaluations!
