Job Description

Via is on a mission to create public transportation systems that provide far greater access to jobs, healthcare, and education. Our platform serves as the technology backbone for modern transit networks, transforming antiquated and siloed public transportation systems into smart, data-driven, and efficient digital networks. As a Designer: Brand & Interactive Systems, you’ll operate at the intersection of brand identity, interactive design, and AI-driven marketing systems. You are a hybrid creative who can create high-impact campaign packages and self-serve tools to power Via’s go-to-market activities at scale. This role is based in New York City or London and reports directly to the Creative Director of our in-house studio. The studio is responsible for elevating the Via, Citymapper, and Remix brands, delivering communications to our riders, commercial partners, and investors across all channels. We care about the quality of your output and your ability to create with AI-native workflows, regardless of your years of formal experience. Candidates of all levels are welcome to apply.

What You'll Do:

  • Design the future of Transit (B2C Growth): Design the systems powering Via and Citymapper's communication to riders in hundreds of cities across all touchpoints: in-app messaging, environmental wayfinding, bus stop signage, and in-vehicle communication.
  • Design the future of Gov-tech (B2G Go-to-Market): Design the systems powering the company’s B2B communications, including event packages, webinars, whitepapers, blogs, newsletters, and landing pages. 
  • Establish AI-native workflows: Use AI to elevate our creativity, scale our output, and significantly reduce production cycles.
  • Build self-serve design tools: Develop accessible tools, intelligent templates, and automated systems that empower the wider team to independently generate high-quality, on-brand collateral at scale.
  • Bridge Brand and Product: Partner with Product teams to ensure our brand identity flows seamlessly through the interfaces our partners and riders use every day, and to maximize the impact of our tech in marketing deliverables. 
  • Tackle diverse projects: Typical deliverables include transit network branding, product launch campaigns, interactive demos, generative brand toolkits, scalable templates for case studies and social media, and investor communication packages.

Who You Are:

  • A world-class designer: You have a portfolio demonstrating exceptional talent and a deep understanding of foundational design, brand, and interaction principles.
  • A big-picture thinker: You can seamlessly move between high-level conceptualization and pixel-perfect execution under tight deadlines.
  • An AI expert: You are highly proficient in generative AI design and continuously refine your Claude/Gemini setup. You know exactly which tool to pick to get the best out of a project.
  • Technically curious: You have experimented with node-based generative workflows (ComfyUI, Krea.ai, Weave, etc.) and understand how to build the most efficient creative workflow for any given task.
  • A master of your tools: You are highly proficient with Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.
