Basic Function
Perform a wide variety of duties to support the Metrology functions of the department. Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair test and measurement equipment. Administer equipment record and calibration databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Set up, test, calibrate and maintain test and measurement equipment in accordance with established company procedures.
Analyze, repair, and troubleshoot metrology equipment.
Establish calibration intervals based on internal/external data and manufacturer recommendations.
Update calibration and asset tracking databases.
Administration of records in accordance with established procedures
Conduct experiments in support of metrology development and process improvement.
Interface with production supervisors and managers to meet production requirements.
Assist and advise in preparation of calibration and maintenance procedures (work instructions).
Support company continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to follow all safety procedures.
Regular attendance and ability to get along in a team environment.
Manual calibration of dimensional, torque pressure, electronic, analog, and proprietary test equipment using lab standards (e.g., Fluke multi-product calibrators, Molboxes, Brooks Flow controllers)
Create test procedures using manufacturers specifications.
Support customer and ISO audits
Other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Certification in electronic engineering technician (EET) or an Associate degree in a relevant metrology field preferred
1+ years relevant experience in calibration/metrology in a commercial laboratory
Advanced understanding of relevant metrological standards (e.g., flow, pressure, vacuum, mechanical).
Strong communication skills; including written, verbal and listening skills
Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
Ability to provide precise, accurate and repeatable calibration data
Understand and demonstrate ability in use and operation of electrical/electronic equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, soldering equipment, power supplies, and DAQ’s
Advanced PC knowledge including use of Microsoft Office tools.
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, NIST
Experience in communication with customer and peers, including ability to mentor or train
