Job Description Summary

At Avio Aero, a GE Aerospace Business unit, we have been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both civil and military aviation.

The Technology Projects Business Program Manager will be the company focal point for the execution of the Technology Projects and the related Demonstrator, in order to show the technology readiness. She/He will report to the Military Advanced Program Manager and will coordinate all the involved functions to meet the program requirements.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of the Technology Projects and the related Demonstrator, including the coordination of a cross functional program team (ENG, GSC, QUA, etc.)

  • Contribute to the standardization and continuous improvement of FLIGHT DECK practices across the program by applying standard work, operating rhythm, and KPI/bowler-based performance management

  • Support the Advanced Program Manager to meet company financial/timing targets within the allocated budget

  • Manage technology projects planning, assumptions and dependencies

  • Perform regular risk assessments and manage mitigation activities to address key risks for technology projects, liaising with Program Risk Manager

  • Liase with Project Control Manager to keep updated planning and check dependencies with other Program activities

  • Lead the Program Control Board preparation for technology projects related items

  • Responsible for configuration control of technology demonstrator

  • Understand security requirements and related implications and if needed, liaising with Security and Compliance departments to ensure appropriate and compliant solutions are set in place

  • Support Military Advanced Program Manager in managing internal reporting to Senior Leadership and program whitelist

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering

  • Solid experience in project management, with strong planning, documentation, execution skills and the ability to manage financial indicators

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrix organization, both on-site and remotely, and to build networks and influence stakeholders

  • Good knowledge of the aerospace industry and understanding of the defense environment, combined with sound risk management and problem-solving skills

  • Adaptability, with the ability to respond quickly to project changes, communicate promptly with a strong sense of urgency, and interact effectively at all levels of internal and external organizations.

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Availability to travel as needed to support the business

  • Italian Citizenship

  • Eligible to be security cleared by the Italian National Security Authority (security concerns that can lead to a determination of ineligibility are listed in art. 37 DPCM 6 November 2015 n.5)”
