Your role in a nutshell
In this role you will be solely responsible for working on design briefs for our client's New Zealand presence. This client is a world-leading global beverage company known for its iconic consumer brands, operating across over 200 markets. This role reports to the Head of Design.
The work will be retail focused and include the likes of catalogue print and digital ads; packaging designs and updates; pharmacy catalogues and detail aids.
Key Responsibilities
For our business to work, you will be required to spend time on certain areas of the business. Your key responsibilities are as follows:
- Work closely with the project manager and client teams to understand the needs and visually elevate the brands.
- Have an eye for design, typography, layout and pre-press requirements, digital advertising and go the extra mile on all jobs, adding value where possible.
- To gain full knowledge of studio procedures and guidelines
- Ensure integration of brand and design consistency on all projects.
- Develop a deep knowledge of your clients' brands and style guides.
- Responsible for the design of a range of graphic, print, and digital media collateral.
- Have strong self-management attributes.
- Be deadline-oriented and have the ability to work at a fast pace.
- Action design feedback promptly in line with client requests.
- Oversee and give design guidance to other designers in the team.
Finished Art
- Excellent technical skills in the creation of finished art for ads and packaging designs and preparing digital files for publishing.
- Basic Retouching skills as a minimum.
Required Experience/Skills/Capabilities
- Minimum of 10 years experience in designing and producing marketing collaterals.
- Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft programs.
- Strong understanding of print and digital design process and its required outputs.
- Excellent communication and prioritisation skills.
- To be able to communicate clearly with people, showing a deal of patience, when required.
- Have a positive attitude towards work. See the opportunities rather than the problems.
- Strong time management skills in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment with multiple, changing priorities.
- Very high attention to detail.
- Able to ask logical questions to gain a full understanding of client needs and requests.
- Ability to identify issues and make decisions accordingly.
- Ability to work independently.
